Contact: (303) 954-9166
Hours: Monday – Thursday 4:30 PM – 9:30 PM, Friday – Sunday 11:30 AM – 9:30 PM
Tucked away on Tejon Street, Nozomi serves a diverse array of fresh nigiri, sashimi, and uniquely crafted temaki hand rolls that are a rare find in the area. Stepping inside reveals a cozy, intimate dining room that practically begs you to linger over your meal.
I recently chatted with a local food enthusiast who couldn’t stop raving about their impeccably sourced seafood and strict attention to gluten-free dietary needs. Every bite of their specialty rolls pops with vibrant, fresh flavors.
Furthermore, the staff guides patrons through the menu with genuine warmth, making sure your glass is never empty.
Just keep a close eye on your final bill if you decide to indulge. The more premium cuts of fish and highly specialized imported items carry a hefty price tag.
Customer Reviews:
A solid take out order! Majority of the time I do not do pick up orders, especially for sushi. But sometimes you want sushi on a Saturday night & you just know dining in at 7:30pm without a reservation is probably not possible. We spent $120 & it all of it was really great, no issues at all – pick up order was ready 40 mins after it was placed online. We ordered: small vegetable tempura, sake crudo, hamachi chili, sake nigiri, bluefin toro nigiri, yellowtail jalapeño maki & a pacific roll. The yellowtail maki could’ve been spicier, but it was still delicious.

Picked this spot out for my wife’s birthday having never been here and this place did not disappoint! They had quite a few things on the menu that I hadn’t tried before and the waitress was super helpful in explaining them. The scallop nigiri and the wagyu were hands down the best, but everything was great. Staff was really nice and they were really quick with getting things out. Definitely some of the best sushi I’ve ever had.

Diners looking for a visual feast should head straight to Izakaya Den.
This architecturally acclaimed space, with its high ceilings and elegant design, makes it an ideal spot for celebrating milestones or dressing up for a sophisticated evening out.
Overall, the atmosphere sets the stage for traditional plates, internationally inspired tapas, and fresh catch flown directly from Kyushu within 24 hours! The culinary team pairs every delicate slice of sashimi with the perfect sip, too.
Securing a table for a crowd requires some serious planning, however. Their strict 48-to-72-hour advance notice policy for large party reservations makes spontaneous group dining virtually impossible.
Customer Reviews:
This is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had ever. Staff was so attentive and made me feel like we were the most important people in the building! Kaz was super knowledgeable and recommended some of the best food i have ever had including some very unique menu options. We never felt like we were waiting on anything and details even down to the volume level of the space we were seated at was perfect. I can’t wait to come back! best birthday dinner ever!!

We came here for a birthday dinner (we’ve been before but it’s been a while), and the food is fantastic. I’ve had sushi on the east and west coast, and this is probably some of the freshest sushi I’ve had in Colorado. Even their chocolate cake desert is amazing. I highly recommend.

Customer Reviews:
I was lucky enough to have an experience here for lunch. The host, Finn was so warm and welcoming, really seeing if there was a way to squeeze us in for lunch. The food was incredible, I got a lychee martini, the lunch omakase special and the milk and cereal for dessert. The hama chile was hot, tangy and refreshing. I don’t usually love seaweed salad but this one wasn’t slimy at all. Omakase was so good I forgot to take photos of I when it was first placed. I went all in. Totally worth it for the atmosphere as well – sexy, natural cool. Thank you so much Uchiko!!

Uchi made our anniversary memorable. The atmosphere was good, the food was amazing, cocktails were great, and overall service was thoughtful. We ordered the omakase which was 10 courses and each dish was very impressive.
Our sushi chef made great conversation and had excellent recommendations. Everything tasted fresh. Just nothing to really critique.

4. Colorado Sake Co.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Friday 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Saturday 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Sunday Closed
Nestled in the vibrant RiNo art district, Colorado Sake Co. merges an expert-led culinary program with the state’s only on-site brewery to deliver a uniquely crafted brewery-to-table pairing experience.
It easily stands out among the best breweries in Denver by pouring small-batch, house-fermented beverages alongside their flavorful dishes.
When I spoke with some of the regulars, many praised how engaging the staff was when explaining the fermentation process.
I also love how patrons can easily spend an entire Saturday here enjoying live jazz or stand-up comedy while snacking.
Keep in mind that this hybrid entertainment venue gets incredibly lively as the evening progresses. The energetic noise levels might frustrate diners searching for a highly traditional, quiet meal.
Customer Reviews:
Alejandro is the best sake bartender ever! Definitely say hi to him if you see him.
The sake flight was very unique and fantastic (they have 1/2 off 1/2 flight of sake on Tuesdays). My favorite sake is the 1801. I ordered 1/2 flight of sake and some sushi rolls. I got the 1801 sake to-go for $13 as well. Overall, affordable pricing. Friendly service. Nice environment!

I didn’t eat at the restaurant side, but I was blessed to be able to order from their menu while enjoying a comedy show next door at Denver comedy lounge.
I loved the show I attended and the biggest plus is GOOD FOOD, which seems to be unheard of for a comedy spot. The sake cocktails were unique too and I enjoyed the mule (not too sweet but you can’t taste the sake either).
The Gyoza were seriously the best I’ve had, ever. The shrimp tempura sushi was good and the steak skewer. I didn’t care for the spicy edamame as it seemed to lack flavor.

5. Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ

Address: 1998 18th St

Their advanced down-draft roasters keep the dining room completely smoke-free, so you leave smelling just as fresh as when you arrived.
The extensive all-you-can-eat menu provides substantial value for groups looking to feast without emptying their wallets.
Do take advantage of their generously long happy hour window, which unlocks excellent discounts on both savory bites and cold drinks!
On the downside, their interactive culinary setup demands constant attention at the table. Guests seeking a completely relaxed, fully serviced meal might not appreciate needing to cook their own meals.
Customer Reviews:
Went today for the first time with some friends and I really enjoyed it. The food was great, atmosphere was vibrant, and everything came out pretty quickly despite it being busy. Kai our server, was helpful without being overbearing and John, the food runner, was amazing as well. I didn’t know the different kinds of meats but he managed to explain them really well and got our food out super fast. 10/10 recommend and I’m definitely coming back soon.

I haven’t been here for a year but we came for my friend birthday. Showed up late with 7 people last minute but the staff happily worked with us. They helped accommodate and create an amazing experience. I rate how my experience went and I have to say they really made it memorable. Thank you!
