My aunt’s backyard was surrounded by tall, ageing trees that had grown a little wild over the years, and it was clear they needed some professional care. Together, we started looking for tree experts in Denver who could trim, treat, and maintain them without compromising their natural beauty.
As we reached out to different providers, we realised that great tree services go beyond cutting branches. They focus on long-term health, safety, and keeping the landscape vibrant through every season.
For homeowners who want their trees to thrive year-round, the right professionals make all the difference. Here are the best tree service providers in Denver for care and maintenance.
How much does a tree service in Denver cost?
The cost of tree services in Denver varies widely, with a typical tree removal project ranging from $500 to $2,500, depending on the tree’s size, health, and accessibility. A more routine service like pruning and trimming a mature tree generally costs between $300 and $1,000.
1. DLC Landscape & Arbor

Address: 123 Vallejo St
Phone: 7209273982
Business Hours: Monday to Friday – 8 AM to 5 PM
DLC Landscape & Arbor has built quite a reputation across Denver for its professional tree care services, and after visiting their headquarters, we could see why. The staff were approachable and knowledgeable, taking time to explain how they diagnose tree health issues and carry out removals or trimmings safely.
They walked us through their full range of services—from pruning and stump grinding to landscape care—and what stood out most was their emphasis on maintaining tree health, not just appearance. Their pricing is in line with industry standards, which seems fair given the scale and complexity of their work.
However, communication could use improvement. A few former clients mentioned that updates were sent primarily through email, even though phone or text might have been more convenient for quick follow-ups.
That said, this seems to be a minor gap compared to the overall quality of their operations.
You’ll find DLC’s team skilled, punctual, and well-equipped to handle projects both big and small—a reliable option if you value precision and long-term care for your trees.
Consistent, organized, knowledgeable, and affordable team
“DLC has been our go to for several years at a couple different houses. They’re consistent, organized, knowledgeable and affordable. Appreciate Anthony and his team’s support. They made the removal of the sick cottonwood in our yard look easy with their dual trucks and really cool grappling truck. They kept the site clear and clean. Thanks team!”

Did a great job and they sent follow-up pictures
“Justin was great to work with – and also… The people in the office. I was out of town while the work was done… They did a great job and even sent me a follow up photos. I would highly recommend this company for your treat. Trimming needs.”

2. Monster Tree Service

Address: Lakewood
Phone: +13036225449
Business Hours: Monday to Friday – 8 AM to 5 PM
Calling Monster Tree Service was one of the easiest decisions to make after hearing about how they handle large-scale removals. Their team was upfront and quick to respond when we reached out for details about trimming and removal costs.
What stood out most was their clear communication and professionalism over the phone—no hidden fees, no pressure, just straight answers. They walked us through their process for pruning and explained their methods for safe removals using cranes when needed.
From what we gathered and confirmed through customer feedback, their crews work fast, clean up thoroughly, and treat each property with respect. Many locals also shared how their arborists helped restore tree health through injections and preventive care for pests like the Emerald Ash Borer.
To us, it’s clear that they value long-term tree health, not just quick fixes.
That said, follow-up scheduling can be a bit inconsistent. We waited longer than expected for callbacks, which can be frustrating when time-sensitive work is involved.
Professional and can work in harsh conditions
“Mike and his crew showed up in the rain, got to work on a steep slope and had all the trees done by noon when we planned for a couple of days work. Great team, hard workers and will use again! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a professional company and capable individuals, thanks Mike!”

Project ended flawlessly and they are super professional
“Ok, so. Where do I start. This is the second time Monster Tree Service tackled this huge, monstrous 40 Ft tall dead tree in my back yard. My back yard backs up to very busy Wadsworth Blvd. Monster Tree Service brought out all of the heavy equipment which included a bucket lift and maneuvered this equipment into a very tight spot. From start to finish, these guys were amazing. The entire project was flawless and super professional. I had a couple of different quotes before going with Monster for a second time. I’m so happy that I chose them again. They went above and beyond by removing my fence and replacing it after first cleaning all debris from the back yard. I guess I can go on and on but I think you get my point. If you need a tree serviced, highly recommend Monster Tree Service. They were amazing. Thanks again Monster.”

3. Colorado Premier Tree Care

Address: 1048 S Patton Ct
Phone: +17209907004
Business Hours: Monday to Sunday – 7 AM to 6 PM
Founded in 2017, Colorado Premier Tree Care has built a solid reputation among Denver homeowners for its reliable work and knowledgeable arborists.
When we reached out by phone, the manager was quick to respond and clear about their services, which range from trimming and pruning to stump grinding and full removals.
During the call, they were also very professional, patient, and genuinely seemed to care about the health of every tree their team works on.
They also explained their process thoroughly, and boasted transparent pricing, insured workers, and safety-first procedures that follow ISA standards.
Notably, their past clients often mention how this crew not only trims or removes trees but also provides long-term care advice, especially for older or fire-damaged trees.
Furthermore, many also praise their punctuality, tidy cleanup, and honest quotes that never change mid-project.
The only downside is that their website could use a refresh. A more modern and mobile-friendly design would make getting quotes and learning about services much easier for potential customers.
Very punctual and professional
“Colorado Premier Tree Care removed an invasive tree for us which was inches away from our garage and performed stump grinding on an old stump right next to the tree. They did a great job, showed up on time and were very quick (less than 1 hour for each job). They were also able to schedule the job according to my schedule AND were willing to work around some other construction in our backyard. It was greatly appreciated as we had a tight schedule with other construction projects going on around this.”

Worked hard and they knew the scope of the project very well
“Hired Kelly and his team for a trim of several large trees and two removals of small pines. In short, did what we agreed on. Team showed up on time, knew the scope of the project and worked super hard. Did a walkthrough at the end and everything looked great. Team leader was a super nice guy. Reasonably priced. Excellent cleanup. A+”

4. Environmental Tree Care LLC

Address: 363 W Evans Ave
Phone: +13033688454
Business Hours: Monday to Sunday – Open 24 hours
Operating since 2004, Environmental Tree Care has become one of Denver’s go-to service providers for tree maintenance, snow removal, and landscape design.
While their reputation for quality work is well-earned, one thing worth noting is that scheduling can sometimes be delayed during peak seasons. It’s not unusual for projects to start a few days later than expected, so it helps to follow up and confirm your slot ahead of time.
That said, once their crew arrives, the professionalism is immediately evident. When we called to inquire, the staff was very informative and transparent about pricing, explaining Denver’s trimming rules and offering advice for tree preservation.
The company’s licensed arborists handle everything from large tree removals to year-round plant health care, and their equipment looks well-maintained and capable of handling big or complex projects.
Their long-term customers consistently praise the team’s attention to detail. The cleanup afterward is meticulous, and their crew works carefully around homes, fences, and walkways.
Environmental Tree Care blends technical skill with genuine care for tree health, which is why they’ve built such strong loyalty among locals.
Fair and easy to work with
“Environmental Tree Care has been the only tree service I have used for over 3 years now. They are fair, easy to work with and do great work. They have brought one of my trees back from serious decline and advised on numerous others. Recently, they took a worn looking ash and turned it into quite the parkway tree. If you love your trees like I do, call these guys!”

Topnotch crew that will never let you down
“The wife and I just had the best experience ever with Environmental Tree Care. Mitch and his crew are top notch. We were really sad to have to cut down our tree in front of our house. But they did an incredible job, managed the tree coming down safely, and were completely respectful of our house and neighbors. We are thrilled with the job they did and would highly recommend their services. Thanks again Mitch!!!!”

5. Ross Tree Company

Address: 80 S Galapago St
Phone: +13038719121
Business Hours: Monday to Friday – 8 AM to 4:30 PM
Ross Tree Company has been serving Denver since 1978, and you can tell their longevity comes from experience and professionalism. The moment we reached out, their office team was courteous and quick to answer questions about tree trimming, permits, and scheduling.
Their staff didn’t rush the conversation, taking the time to explain their process for both residential and commercial jobs. The crew also includes certified arborists, which gives you confidence when dealing with older or larger trees that require careful attention.
That said, there were some hiccups when it came to scheduling. Several customers mentioned—and we also noticed—that appointments can get shuffled around with little notice.
Still, when their team shows up, their work speaks for itself. They’ve handled large-scale removals, pruning, and pest treatment jobs with skill and safety. Cleanups are thorough, their pricing is competitive, and their team leaves every yard looking well cared for.
Fantatic team you should hire now
“Ross Tree Company was fantastic! I had them check my crabapple tree for a possible fungal infection, and the arborist explained it was just normal bark shedding for that species. He gave helpful tips on pruning, fertilizing, and watering—no pressure to buy services I didn’t need. Honest, knowledgeable, and friendly. I’ll definitely use them in the future!”

They really care for trees, so you are in good hands
“We selected Ross Tree to help with two 50′ maple tree trimming/preservation as well as trimming some smaller trees on our lot. End-to-end, the group exceeded our expectations. From initial contact, to proposal, to questions/clarification and second trip to confirm proposal (thank you David!), to scheduling and the ultimate two teams who came to do the work, they were professional, courteous and communicative. Most of all, they clearly care for trees as much as we do. The two teams were amazing working together with a very strategic approach to complex work. The clean up was thorough, including my neighbor’s yard. They also were able to dump a small pile of chips for me to use as mulch. Please see a few pics to show the size of our trees with the men up high in them to do a complete job (one is view from back tree looking at men in front tree – they are up high). Highly recommend.”
