Finding the Best Christmas Tree Stores in Denver for Your Home

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Freshness and Sourcing: We checked how recently the lots harvest their inventory. Trees cut just days before arrival hold onto their needles much longer in a dry climate.

Variety and Selection: We looked at the sheer number of species and sizes available. Having multiple options ensures you can find the right fit for your living room.

Customer Service and Extras: We evaluated the on-site help provided by the staff. Free trunk cuts and vehicle loading assistance make the trip much easier.

Overall Value: We compared the sticker tags against the health of the branches. Paying a bit more makes sense if the pine lasts completely through December.

Tracking down the best Christmas trees in Denver feels magical — until you actually have to figure out where to go.

You want somewhere to get a fresh pine that smells great and won’t drop all its needles by mid-December. So I explored the top spots around town to help you find exactly what you need for the holiday season.

Grab your favorite winter coat and get ready to bring the holiday spirit straight into your living room.

How much does a Christmas tree cost in Denver?

Schedule: Monday to Sunday, 9 AM–9 PM

Getting a healthy evergreen to survive a dry Colorado winter takes serious effort. Nice Christmas Trees solves this problem by cutting their stock just two days before loading.

This rapid turnaround gives you a massive head start on freshness compared to big retail chains. They also help the wood drink more water by drilling a six-inch hole into the base of every trunk.

Their lot carries over 10,000 plants tailored to our specific altitude. You’ll easily find the exact height you need for your living room. Plus, they focus entirely on climate-specific varieties like Noble and Fraser Firs.

Just be aware that the prices listed on their website don’t match what you’ll actually pay in person. You can expect higher tags once you walk onto the physical lot.

Their delivery team also stays strictly within the metro boundaries, skipping any rural mountain towns entirely.

Pros

  • Cut two days prior to loading
  • Drilled base holes for hydration
  • Inventory of over 10,000 trees
  • Staff can help load vehicles

Cons

  • Lot prices are higher than on the website
  • Large trees only at the main location

Customer Reviews

Since moving to Denver I have struggled to find good Christmas Trees (I was spoiled previously living 2 miles from a cut-your-own farm).  This year we tried Nice Christmas Trees and a week after buying it, my 6 foot Fraser is STILL drinking 2-3 quarts per day, which is incredible!  The process of picking a tree and taking away is also very good with helpful folks all along the way.  Highly recommend!

I got my Christmas tree from Pete from Nice Christmas tree and the smile he had on his face was amazing. Incredible service. Great attitude towards customers and a friendly friendly individual. This will be my go to place for Christmas trees in Denver Colorado.

Schedule: Monday to Sunday, 10 AM – 8 PM

Dragging a heavy pine onto a car roof is nobody’s idea of a fun holiday afternoon. Jolly Christmas Trees removes this headache completely by providing complimentary fresh cuts and professional loading assistance.

I stopped by their downtown location last year, and the staff securely tied a heavy Fraser Fir to my sedan in under five minutes.

When it comes to the buying experience, they maintain several lots across the area to make it incredibly convenient for most urban residents to find a perfect match quickly. They even supply wholesale gear for local fundraisers.

I like that they prioritize plant health by keeping their nursery-grown inventory protected under large shade cloths.

The main catch is their strictly seasonal operating window. If you want early planning help or post-holiday cleanup services, you’ll have to look elsewhere. They also don’t ship outside of their established local corridors.

Pros

  • Complimentary loading assistance
  • Multiple convenient lot locations
  • Trees protected by shade cloths
  • Diverse premium species available

Cons

  • Strictly seasonal operating window
  • No shipping outside local corridors

Customer Reviews

This was our first year buying a tree from Jolly Christmas Trees and we will definitely be back next year. Their team is knowledgeable and friendly. They helped us find a tree quickly and with no nonsense. They didn’t try to upsell us and I feel like we got a good deal! Merry Christmas!

These guys are great. Always kind and helpful and we have found the best trees here for a reasonable price. We bought our tree from them last year and this year and will keep coming back!

3. Modern Christmas Trees

Address: 299 Fillmore St

Schedule: Monday to Wednesday and Sunday, 11 AM–6 PM; Thursday to Saturday, 11 AM–9 PM

Sweeping up dead pine needles every morning gets old very quickly. Modern Christmas Trees offers a completely mess-free alternative with their unique collapsible acrylic ring designs.

Lawrence “Bud” Stoecker, a former NASA engineer, originally created these mid-century modern pieces. Each piece features his engraved signature to guarantee its authenticity.

You can hang his creations beautifully from the ceiling or sit elegantly on a stylish tulip stand. And after Christmas, the concentric rings fold completely flat, slipping easily into a slim zipper case that fits under any bed.

You get a perfectly symmetrical display for your ornaments without the clutter of organic branches. This design saves incredible amounts of floor space for apartment renters.

Just note that you’ll have to pay a premium price for these artistic centerpieces. They also completely lack the natural scent of a real evergreen.

If you crave that classic mountain cabin smell, these modern designs might feel a bit too unnatural for your taste.

Pros

  • Collapses flat for easy storage
  • Zero dropping needles to clean
  • Authentic mid-century modern design
  • Backed by a lifetime guarantee

Cons

  • High premium price tag
  • Lacks natural pine scent

Customer Reviews

Purchased the tabletop modern christmas tree 2 years ago and absolutely LOVE it. The colour changing LED is spectacular, and it is the perfect xmas feature in our entryway to compliment our xmas tree in the living room.

We’ve been looking for the perfect Christmas tree to fit with the look of our front room and stand out as unique. And we finally found it with Modern Christmas Trees! The set up was easy. Customer service was fantastic. And the tree is as much of a showpiece as we hoped it would be. Couldn’t be happier.

Schedule: Monday to Saturday, 9 AM-5 PM; Sunday, 10 AM-5 PM

Shopping for holiday decor in freezing winds usually cuts the trip short. City Floral Garden Center offers a much warmer experience right inside their historic greenhouses.

I visited them recently instead of the outdoor markets just to stay warm, and the indoor setup felt incredibly festive.

They source unique plant varieties directly from their own local growing facility in Golden. You can pick up a massive Concolor Fir and browse fresh wreaths all in one convenient stop.

Their expert staff works year-round, so they actually understand how to keep your greenery hydrated properly. They specialize in urban landscape solutions tailored for city lots.

Just brace yourself for premium pricing across their entire inventory. The neighborhood parking lot also gets quite cramped during the peak holiday rush. Finding a spot on a busy Saturday morning requires plenty of patience.

Pros

  • Comfortable indoor shopping experience
  • Stock grown at local facility
  • Expert year-round nursery staff
  • One-stop shop for holiday decor

Cons

  • Premium prices on plants
  • Cramped parking during peak season

Customer Reviews

I visit this place sometimes when I just need a relaxing moment to just walk and look at plants. The fact that they have roaming chickens and cats makes it that much more enjoyable. I also buy most of my plants from here. In the winter, they have the most beautiful Christmas trees.

This is a great place to get your Christmas tree, they have a large selection with competitive prices.  But here they go above and beyond, giving your Christmas tree a fresh cut and mounting it to the stand for you as well as loading the tree on top of your car for you and tying it down. Other than Christmas trees they have a great selection of plants all year with knowledgeable staff to help you.

Schedule: Monday to Saturday, closes at 6 PM; Sunday, closes at 5 PM

Setting up a massive evergreen requires tools and energy that many people simply don’t have. Nick’s Garden Center solves this issue by offering professional delivery and full installation services for their greenery.

Their sprawling location transforms into a fun winter wonderland complete with Santa visits. This makes it a great family destination before hitting up local breweries for dinner.

Inside, they carry an impressive range of fresh-cut branches, custom garlands, and holiday decorations. Their team even runs a seasonal farm market earlier in the year.

Keep in mind that they close by 6:00 PM most days, making after-work trips very difficult for busy professionals. The drive to Aurora is also a long trek if you live in the downtown core.

Pros

  • Professional delivery and installation
  • Fun holiday events for families
  • Deep knowledge of local climate
  • Wide variety of fresh garlands

Cons

  • Early evening closing hours
  • Far drive from central downtown

We got our son’s Christmas tree here and everyone was was lovely and helpful.  Tree prices were market rate.  We got a 6 foot noble for $113. There are lots to choose from and lots of holiday decorations.  A train was taking kids around the property and there were several places to take pictures if you wanted a holiday picture.

Amazing place! This time of the year it looks gorgeous, decorated with beautiful Christmas trees. The ornaments are very unique. I spent there a lot of time just looking around. My husband bought a few presents for friends and family. They have a lot of local products. There is a lot of things to chose from.

They also have a great selection of trees
