Craving Mediterranean? Here are the best Greek restaurants in Denver

best-greek-restaurant-denver
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Menu Authenticity: I looked closely at how kitchens stick to traditional recipes. Spots using family heritage and imported spices scored much higher.
  •
  • Ingredient Quality: Scratch-made elements separate good food from unforgettable meals. I prioritized locations that bake their own bread and avoid pre-packaged shortcuts.
  •
  • Service and Hospitality: True Mediterranean dining makes you feel like an honored guest. I evaluated how these businesses treat their patrons during busy rushes.
  •
  • Value and Portions: Nobody wants to pay premium prices for a tiny plate of hummus. I sought out restaurants offering generous serving sizes that justify the bill.
  •
  • Dietary Flexibility: Sharing a meal should be an easy task for everyone. I gave extra points to menus featuring robust GF (gluten-free) and vegetarian choices.

Denver’s food scene shines bright, but finding an authentic Mediterranean bite can feel overwhelming.

Maybe you’re looking for a dripping, slow-roasted gyro on freshly baked pita. Or perhaps you crave a sit-down feast featuring flaming cheese and cold wine.

Tracking down the best Greek restaurant in Denver means sorting through countless menus to uncover those perfectly spiced, scratch-made dishes.

I spent time digging into the local culinary landscape to find spots delivering massive flavor, generous portions, and serious authenticity. These standout locations bring the Mediterranean straight to Colorado.

How much does Greek food cost in Denver?

You can expect to spend anywhere from a quick $10 for a casual gyro wrap to over $50 per person for an upscale, sit-down Mediterranean feast.

Dining StyleAverage Price (Per Person)Typical Menu Items
Fast Casual$10–$18Gyro wraps, falafel, salads, hummus
Casual Sit-Down$18–$30Moussaka, souvlaki platters, spanakopita
Upscale Dining$30–$50+Premium seafood, whole fish, fine wines

1. Zaman Mediterranean Fresh

zaman-mediterranean-fresh

Website: https://www.zamanfresh.com/

Address: 282 S Logan St

Contact: (720) 930-0243; [email protected]

Schedule: Tuesday to Sunday: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm (Monday: Closed)

Walking inside Zaman Mediterranean Fresh immediately hits you with the amazing aroma of toasted cumin.

Everything here, from the hand-rolled falafel to the slow-roasted shawarma, is prepared fresh every single morning. The Syrian team even bakes their signature pita and savory manakeesh right in a roaring brick oven.

I recently chatted with a regular who swore by the family-sized portions and said you always leave with enough food for lunch the next day.

It’s also great that the kitchen offers gluten-free pita bread as part of its massive menu. Plus, you’ll truly feel like an honored guest because of their warm hospitality.

However, you should know they lock their doors completely on Mondays. They also stick to a strict nine o’clock closing time, which might ruin your late-night snacking plans.

Pros

  • Huge menu variety
  • Family-size portions
  • Authentic, warm hospitality
  • High-quality specialty ingredients
  • Versatile catering options

Cons

  • Closed completely on Mondays
  • No late-night or early-morning hours

Very humble and wonderful people
Fawgedabodit!!!! Unbelievable Amazing Incredible… From when you are greeted upon entering…. The free lentil soup … The hummus and freshly baked pita bread the zaatar the chicken swarma the desserts .. I had to meet the chef and owner of the establishment. They were all very humble and wonderful people from Syria.  The spices are from their country and all the food is home made in their restaurant….. When in Denver don’t pass this place up.

What a lovely restaurant!
What a lovely restaurant! I ordered a falafel and wrap with lentil soup and tried one of their pistachio pastry desserts. Everything was delicious and fresh tasting. Super clean atmosphere great for groups or solo casual. The cashier was very sweet and enjoyed her service too. I love that they packed in the pickled veggie that are authentic middle eastern style. I’d definitely come back again.

2. Chef Zorba’s

chef-zorba-s

Website: http://www.chefzorbas.com/

Address: 2626 E 12th Ave

Contact: (303) 321-0091

Schedule: Daily: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM

This Congress Park landmark has proudly fed the neighborhood since 1979. They perfectly blend authentic Greek specialties with classic American diner plates.

Chef Zorba’s thrives on a unique hybrid menu featuring dishes like the Athenian Omelette alongside standard pancakes.

You can swing by early or stay late for a hearty meal, as their broad daily operating hours offer unmatched consistency for hungry locals. But if you need food for the office, their high-volume group catering handles massive crowds flawlessly.

However, this dual-menu approach does split the kitchen’s focus between two different cuisines. Finding purely authentic vibes might feel slightly diluted here for some guests.

Also, the traditional sit-down service prevents a fast grab-and-go lunch during a busy workday. Despite these small things, it remains a beloved local staple for many people.

Pros

  • Extensive specialty menu
  • High-volume group catering
  • Broad daily operating hours
  • Health-conscious meal substitutions

Cons

  • Split focus between two cuisines
  • Slower sit-down service model

Food and service here are top-notch
Such a great experience. Food and service here are top notch. The Gyro is delicious, however I will say not to order extra meat because it’s legit to much. Like overflowing. The friendliness of the staff was amazing. Parking is street parking but it isn’t too bad.

They have fair prices and delicious food
I went to zorbas for breakfast and I would highly recommend it. They have fair prices and delicious food. They uncharged for eggs based on how expensive eggs have gotten. I got a delicious BLT. French fries are delicious but not my favorite I’ve found on Denver. The sandwich has good proportions. My friend enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches and would recommend the breakfast burrito. They have quick service and kind servers. Stop here for a homey vibe and good food.

3. FelFel Mediterranean

Website: https://www.felfel-usa.com/

Address: 4401 S Tamarac Pkwy

Contact: (303) 586-5540; [email protected]

Schedule: Monday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Health-conscious diners often flock to FelFel Mediterranean for their strict clean food standards. Every single dish skips those heavy restaurant additives you find elsewhere.

They create a scratch-made menu daily, offering delicious slow-roasted shawarma and hand-rolled falafel.

I grabbed a quick lunch there recently and really loved the fast service. Their seamless digital ordering system easily eliminated the usual counter friction.

It’s also great that they have a reliable twelve-hour daily service window, so you can grab food almost anytime.

Just keep in mind that you won’t find full-table wait service or a formal dining atmosphere here. The fast-casual model is clearly built for speed and efficiency.

This works perfectly before hitting the local markets, but it does lack that traditional taverna charm.

Pros

  • Consistent 12-hour daily service
  • High-capacity event catering
  • Flexible digital ordering system
  • Innovative gluten-free options

Cons

  • Fast-casual model lacks formal service
  • No traditional sit-down atmosphere

Customer Reviews

Customer service is great!
FelFel is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the Denver area. I always get the lamb dinner plate with spicy hummus, a Greek salad, pitas, and falafel. Customer service is great! One time they forgot to put the falafel into our bag and ended up giving us extra to make up for it. The chicken bowls are also amazing. Been here many times and will be back soon!

It’s so so good!
My partner and I get takeout from here at least once a month and it ALWAYS slaps. It’s so so good! The felafel, chicken shawarma, hummus, baba ganoush, French fries, Mediterranean and Greek salads, ALL of their sauces and sides are absolutely delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and the restaurant is always sparkling clean. It smells sooo good when you walk in with all of the fresh ingredients and food being made daily. Definitely check this place out it’s one of my favorite local eats!!

4. GOLDEN FALAFEL

golden-falafel

Website: https://goldenfalafelrestaurant.com/

Address: 6460 East Yale Avenue, Suite G20A

Contact: (303) 756 0505; [email protected]

Schedule:

  • Tuesday to Friday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Saturday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Sunday: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Monday: Closed)

Biting into the Moroccan-spiced falafel here reveals a perfectly crispy crust. Inside, you find a soft, vibrant green center bursting with fresh herbs.

Golden Falafel operates as an authentic family-run joint, bringing unique Moroccan elements like saffron rice to the local dining scene. They maintain a strict no-frozen guarantee for all their side dishes.

For example, the kitchen hand-cuts fresh potatoes for fries and blends their rich hummus daily. You also get massive, multi-meal platters for an excellent price.

However, their modest strip-mall setting caters strictly to fast and casual diners. This completely rules out the location for fancy dinner dates.

You also have to navigate their limited availability, as they’re closed on Mondays and have shorter hours on Sundays. Despite this, the quality of the food makes it a local favorite.

Pros

  • Exceptional portion sizes
  • Wide menu diversity
  • Handcrafted traditional desserts
  • Excellent in-office catering

Cons

  • Closed completely on Mondays
  • Modest, casual-only atmosphere
  • Condensed Sunday service hours

Customer Reviews:

Great service and food
Great service and food, I’ve been in multiple times this week because the sandwiches have been so delicious for lunch. The gyro meat is seasoned to perfection, and the chicken Shawarma was also super good. The first time, I tried shawarma, and I was not disappointed. I Highly recommend here if you’re trying some Mediterranean for the first time, or if you just need to stop in for a good lunch that keeps ya going until the evening, they have it, very filling without feeling overstuffed.

Everything is made completely in-house
WOW. This place is *AMAZING*. We’ve been trying to get in since last summer, and finally the stars aligned tonight. I’ve never had better gyro meat – certainly not in Denver, but also anywhere else I’ve tried. Their dolmades are so soft and perfect. Their lamb kebab plate was some of the best lamb I’ve had, too. Everything is made completely in house, and I cannot say enough good things about the place! The atmosphere is fine – nothing special – and perfect for the food to shine!

The dining room always buzzes as waiters serve flaming saganaki cheese with fresh lemon. They also dive deep into fresh seafood and grill whole Mediterranean sea bass beautifully.

Exploring their variety of traditional spreads makes for an unforgettable dinner, especially after touring some local breweries. They even offer curated boutique wines and daily off-menu evening specials to keep things interesting.

Just keep in mind that you won’t find quick weekend lunch hours here at all. Service strictly begins at four o’clock on Saturdays and Sundays. They’re completely closed on Mondays, too.

Plus, some popular side dishes are unavailable during the week.

Pros

  • Massive variety of traditional spreads
  • Dietary-friendly menu customization
  • Deep fresh seafood specialization

Pretty legit Greek food
Pretty legit Greek food. Like Forest Gump says, “and that’s all I have to say about that.”

Outside dining is so refreshing. Sometimes, the owner will come by, and give you a shot of Greek hard liquor. Overall, a little pricey, but highly recommend this place. 👍👍👍
