We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Specialized Expertise: We evaluated each clinic based on its specific areas of cancer focus. Centers must employ doctors who specialize in specific diagnoses rather than general oncology.

Comprehensive Support: Medical treatment alone isn't enough for most families facing a cancer diagnosis. We looked for centers that offered extra help, such as nutritional planning and financial counseling.

Facility Infrastructure: Travel fatigue can be highly stressful for patients undergoing frequent treatments. We prioritized clinics that offer centralized, on-site services, such as labs and pharmacies, under one roof.

Research Affiliations: Access to new therapies significantly expands treatment options for patients with advanced disease. We highlighted clinics connected to major national research networks and clinical trials.

Getting a cancer diagnosis forces you to make major decisions quickly, often during one of the most stressful periods of your life.

Finding the best oncologist in Denver is a critical step toward building a clear, effective treatment plan and gaining some peace of mind.

We reviewed local providers to help you identify clinics that align with different medical needs and treatment priorities. Some centers are known for pediatric oncology, while others specialize in blood disorders and advanced therapies.

This guide breaks down the top oncology clinics in the area so you can compare their strengths and limitations and make a more informed decision for yourself or your family.

Website: https://www.rockymountaincancercenters.com/

Address: 4700 E. Hale Pkwy. Ste. 400 Denver, CO 80220

Contact: 303-321-0302

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers provides specialized care by assigning patients to doctors who specialize in specific cancer types.

Their affiliation with the US Oncology Network also expands access to clinical trials that are often only available at larger academic hospitals.

Along with that, they provide many treatments in an outpatient setting, which can help reduce overall costs and time spent in the hospital.

Patients also have access to support services, such as scalp-cooling technology. Many key services (such as imaging and medications) are also available in the same building.

This setup can make care more convenient and reduce the need for repeated trips across town.

That said, the clinic operates on a strict weekday schedule, which can be difficult for working patients to manage. Insurance verification can also take extra effort, since coverage varies widely depending on the plan.

Pros

  • Focuses on specific cancer types
  • All-in-one facility design
  • Access to clinical trials
  • Offers scalp cooling technology

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Complex insurance verification

I have known Sheila for many years, and she is an excellent advanced practice provider. She always listens me, and gives me thoughtful answers. While I know she sees many patients throughout her day, she has the ability to make me feel like I’m the only patient on her schedule. Thank you so much Sheila for all the love and care you’ve given to me throughout my journey.

Hallie, the nurse practitioner,  operates at a very high level to represent the practice of Dr Mardonnes.  Hallie showed her experience and how very thorough she is in her office visit with me today, March 4.  She will make suggestions to Dr Mardonnes for possible changes to treatment and add medications to help with my new chemo side effects.  It is always a pleasure to have an office visit with Hallie.

Address: 1721 E 19th Ave, Suites 200-300 Denver, CO 80218

Contact: (720) 754-4800

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

The Colorado Blood Cancer Institute is one of the region’s largest programs focused on blood cancers, performing thousands of transplants and cellular therapies.

Their team is FACT-accredited, which reflects a high standard for advanced transplant and cellular treatment care.

A friend who received a stem cell transplant here described the experience as highly specialized, with a team that stayed closely involved throughout recovery.

They also collaborate with his local naturopath, which helped support dietary needs during treatment.

The institute focuses specifically on blood cancers and certain autoimmune conditions, so patients benefit from doctors who dedicate their entire practice to these complex diseases.

They also offer access to early-stage clinical trials through the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network.

The main limitation is scope. They don’t treat solid tumors like breast or lung cancer. Access can also be a bit challenging, as the clinic is located on a busy downtown hospital campus.

Pros

  • High transplant procedure volume
  • Holds rigorous FACT accreditation
  • Specializes in rare autoimmune disorders
  • Offers Phase I clinical trials

Cons

  • Treats only blood cancers
  • Difficult downtown hospital navigation

The staff are friendly and compassionate. Willing to answer questions. The building is clean with simple parking without a ton of walking to the building. The wait time was short and the staff spent a good amount of time with us going over treatment plans.

The people who work.here care about the patients. They are not just a number.  Each and everyone goes above and beyond to make the patients and their families feel special.  They treat you with respect and genuine caring and its not just a job but its their life’s goal. We could not have asked for anything better. They are the best!

Website: https://www.healthonephysiciangroup.com/

Address: 2055 N. High St Suite 340 Denver, CO 80205

Contact: (303) 832 – 2344

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm

HCA HealthONE focuses on treating rare pediatric conditions and complex blood disorders using a multidisciplinary care model. This allows specialists from different fields to work together on a child’s treatment plan.

Children can receive high-level biotherapy and chemotherapy infusions on-site, so families don’t need to move between different hospital wings for care.

Their approach also goes beyond immediate treatment. They offer survivorship programs to help children manage long-term health needs, along with family support services like stress management and nutritional guidance.

That said, the practice only treats pediatric patients, so young adults eventually need to transition to adult care providers. Appointment flow can also be slightly affected by a daily 30-minute midday closure for staff lunch breaks.

Pros

  • Focuses entirely on pediatric care
  • Treats rare childhood cancers
  • Provides a dedicated survivorship program
  • Offers on-site chemotherapy infusions

Cons

  • Age-restricted to children
  • Daily midday office closures

Dr. Ball and the entire RMHC staff provided excellent care for my son. They have always made us feel like we were important, and that my son’s health was their top priority. Their in-depth knowledge and positive attitudes made it possible to get through the most difficult year of my life, and I highly recommend letting them be part of your team.

Dr. Van Doorninck has always been so great with our son Max. He had a myofibroblastic tumor but they weren’t able to remove it all, and when he told us that after looking into it more it was seeming to heal itself! I was so thankful! We just had our yearly check up with him and we will go back next year when he turns 5 and then be done with visits!

4. Intermountain Health Cancer Center – Saint Joseph Hospital

Address: 1818 North Ogden Street Suite 200, Denver, CO 80218

Contact: 303-318-3434

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30am – 5:00pm

Intermountain Health Cancer Center uses advanced precision genomics to study tumor DNA and create more personalized treatment plans. This helps tailor therapy to a patient’s specific cancer biology rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Care is also organized in a way that keeps most services on a single floor, which can make the treatment process feel less overwhelming.

When I helped a relative through a breast cancer diagnosis here, having surgery and imaging located close together saved a lot of time and reduced the stress of traveling between appointments

The facility design also reflects patient feedback, with features designed to improve comfort and reduce anxiety.

Patients can choose between private or semi-private infusion bays, and nurse navigators help coordinate appointments and treatment schedules across the system.

The main drawbacks come from its size. Being part of a large healthcare network can sometimes lead to slower administrative and billing processes.

Pros

  • Uses targeted precision genomics
  • Centralized single-floor care model
  • Offers customized infusion bays
  • Provides dedicated nurse navigators

Cons

  • Complex administrative network processes
  • Heavy downtown traffic

My experience at the Breast Care Center was outstanding because of Tiffany. It was my first mammogram so I was super nervous, but she made me feel comfortable immediately. It was like hanging with a great friend. Thank you to Tiffany!

This is the second time I’ve been seen for radiation. The front desk staff is amazing! Always genuine and kind. The folks in “the back” are equally kind and caring. I always feel lifted up when I leave. It’s a pleasure to interact with everyone on the staff. And of course Dr.W!!

5. UCHealth Cancer Care and Hematology Clinic – Cherry Creek

Website: https://www.uchealth.org/locations/uchealth-cancer-care-and-hematology-clinic-cherry-creek/

Address: 100 Cook Street Suite 202 Denver, CO 80206

Contact: 720-516-9413

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

UCHealth is affiliated with the National Cancer Institute (NCI), which gives patients access to advanced clinical trials and emerging treatments earlier than many standard programs.

A large multidisciplinary team, including medical and surgical oncologists, works together to create a single coordinated treatment plan. This means care is more unified and less fragmented across different offices.

They also place a strong emphasis on support beyond medical treatment. Oncology-certified nurse navigators and social workers help manage logistics like scheduling and care coordination, taking a lot of pressure off patients and families.

Complementary services such as acupuncture are also available to help with side effects during treatment.

That said, it can take time to get an initial appointment, and scheduling bottlenecks are common. The billing process can also feel complex and somewhat impersonal due to the size of the system.

Pros

  • Holds elite NCI affiliation
  • Provides early clinical trial access
  • Employs a unified multidisciplinary team
  • Offers robust whole-person support

Cons

  • Bureaucratic billing departments
  • Long appointment wait times

Dr. Kono, and his staff, demonstrated a level of care I have not experienced before. Never having seen a hematologist before…well, I had questions and concerns. He dispelled my concerns while helping me understand the issues (which were few) around my appointment. Truly, I could not give a better review.

Hospital visits are not usually the highlight of anyone’s day but everything about the UCHealth Hematology Clinic is excellent. In particular Dr. Kono is a very patient, thorough, and personable physician who leaves you feeling heard and understood while also empowered to make informed choices about your health care. It was very reassuring to experience the standard of care exhibited by Dr. Kono and all of the clinic staff and especially helpful during a moment of health uncertainty.
