Craving the rich and deeply spiced magic of roasted meat wrapped in warm bread? You are definitely not the only one hunting for that satisfying bite.
Denver has a surprisingly vibrant Mediterranean food scene packed with juicy cuts and crispy falafel that will make your mouth water. So finding the right spot can be tricky when you want authentic flavors and generous portions.
To separate the standout spots from the rest, I explored a variety of local restaurants and tried different menu favorites across the city. Here are the best shawarma restaurants in Denver that stood out.
How much does shawarma cost in Denver?
Shawarma in Denver usually costs about $9.50 to $14 for wraps and $15 to $27 for full plates.
| Item Type | Average Price Range |
| Sandwiches and Wraps | $9.50 – $13.99 |
| Plates and Combos | $14.99 – $26.99 |
| Vegetarian Sides | $5.99 – $7.99 |
Shawarma House Inc

Address: 1412 S Parker Rd, Unit A#126
Contact: (720) 923-3333 | [email protected]
Hours: Daily, 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Shawarma House Inc feels like the kind of family-run place that earns repeat visits fast. They use traditional vertical spit roasting, and that shows up in the deeper flavor of the meat instead of a rushed, flat taste.
I grabbed lunch here with friends, and the marinated beef wrap was the easy standout. I also like how simple it is to turn a wrap into a combo with fries and a drink.
The clearly labeled vegan and dairy-free options also take a lot of guesswork out of ordering.
The main catch is pricing once you move beyond the basics. Bulk meat is only sold in full-pound increments, and the lamb chop plate costs noticeably more than the chicken or beef options.

A true gem for real Middle Eastern cuisine lovers
This place is a true gem for real Middle Eastern cuisine lovers. The sauces are absolutely incredible — rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We ordered a platter, and it came with so many sides and extras that it was easily enough for two people. The meat is grilled to perfection, incredibly juicy and full of flavor. The kebab and shawarma wrapped in lavash were both outstanding — tender meat, fresh vegetables, and everything perfectly balanced.

Highly filling for the price
The chicken Shawarma was chefs kiss and highly filling for the price. We were there during the calm before the storm, they get very busy when everyone’s getting off work so plan accordingly! Their kabobs are ready to go on the skewers, make your selection and it goes straight on the grill. It’s awesome watching them make your food right in front of you. You can dine-in or do grab-and-go, the wait time is reasonable for the fresh wraps/plates that they make on the spot, and service is very friendly and quick. Very highly recommended!

Pita Fresh

Website: pitafreshdenver.com
Address: 2075 S University Blvd
Contact: (303) 955-8711
Hours: Sunday – Wednesday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 AM; Thursday – Saturday, 10:00 AM – 3:00 AM
Pita Fresh works well for anyone who likes a more flexible take on Mediterranean food instead of a super traditional one.
Their house-made pita does double duty for wraps and flatbread-style pizzas, and the catering options make the place practical for group orders too.
What I appreciate most is that the food still feels carefully made. The wraps are built around high-quality ingredients, the garlic sauces have plenty of punch, and the fresh juices are a nice add-on when I want something lighter than soda.
The late-night weekend hours are another big plus.
That said, the menu takes a broader approach, so diners chasing very specific regional dishes may leave wanting more.
Their catering meat options are also limited to chicken or beef, which leaves lamb out of the mix.

Above and beyond
The food was amazing, our highest complements to the chef. The service was above and beyond, Gabriel really took care of us. The atmosphere was exactly what we needed. You can’t go wrong ending the night with mint tea. Highly recommend the chicken shawarma. We came to Pita Fresh after an event for our organization and could not have ended the night in a better way. There was not a bite of food that we weren’t amazed with. Reasonable pricing too!

Packed with flavor
Pita Fresh absolutely delivered! Their shawarma wrap was packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, tender, and wrapped just right. And the desserts? Straight-up bomb. Fresh, sweet, and the perfect way to finish off the meal. Definitely coming back for more!

Hayati Mediterranean Grill

Website: hayatimediterranean.com
Address: 2958 N Downing St
Contact: (303) 900-0083 | [email protected]
Hours: Daily, 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Hayati Mediterranean Grill stands out if certified Halal proteins matter to you or if you just want a menu with a little more range.
Beyond shawarma, they make in-house pasta and even serve a Tripoli burger. The seasoning, though, still feels rooted in the same rich, aromatic profile I often enjoy at good Mediterranean restaurants.
I respect how much of the food is prepared by hand instead of leaning on pre-packed shortcuts. Combo upgrades are generous, certain pasta plates come with extra sides and sauces, and vegetarians still get hearty options instead of afterthoughts.
The downside is that some of the more interesting menu items cost more than you might expect. Specialty lamb carries a clear premium, and even a plain pasta order can feel pricey once you realize protein is not included.

Better bang for your buck anywhere
Hayati Mediterranean Grill goes crazy. Hole in the wall joint serving it up proper. The gyros slap hard and you’re not finding a better bang for your buck anywhere. Shawarma plates? Premo every time. This spot just hits.

I’ve had their chicken shawarma, shoelace fries, and the fried Oreos. ❤️❤️❤️ Very tasty! The owners are very nice people. There’s a convenience store right next-door If you’re ever in the neighborhood, definitely check this place out.!!

Baghdad Restaurant

Website: https://baghdadrestaurantdenverco.wsite.top/
Address: 2410 S Colorado Blvd
Contact: (303) 757-2526
Hours: Monday – Saturday, 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Sunday, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Baghdad Restaurant is the place I would point people to when they want something that feels a bit more specialized than the usual Mediterranean lineup.
Their slow-cooked bread and lamb dish gives the menu real personality. The kitchen also leans on imported regional spices instead of softening everything into one generic flavor profile.
I tried the mixed platter after a coworker kept talking about it, and it absolutely delivered on variety. The grilled meats were generous, the rice was fragrant, and the dips felt more thoughtful than the standard flatbread-and-salad setup.
I was also glad to see that vegetarian sides like the falafel are made from scratch instead of tasting frozen.
The biggest drawback is the schedule. They close at 9:00 PM every night, and Sunday service does not start until noon.

Best shawarma ever
Best shawarma ever. This is my second time coming here, and hands down to the chef. The beef for shawarma has the correct spice mix; you can definitely tell it’s been marinating correctly, and the right amount of fat has been added to the stick while cooking on the shawarma stand. For a person like me who has very spoiled taste buds, it passes my test for shawarma. Thank you, Bassam!

My go-to restaurant in Denver
My go-to restaurant in Denver! They have delicious food, great prices, generous portions, and wonderful service. I always order their lentil soup and mixed shawarma plate, which comes with a little appetizer plate that has salads and a yummy hummus. Also the baklava place next door is an excellent dessert spot!

Zaman Mediterranean Fresh

Website: zamanfresh.com
Address: 282 S Logan St
Contact: (720) 930-0243 | [email protected]
Hours: Tuesday – Sunday, 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Zaman Mediterranean Fresh wins points with me for how seriously it takes scratch cooking.
The kitchen team is from Syria and key spices are imported. The menu is built around slow-roasted meats and brick-oven breads.
Meals feel more complete here too, since the fresh bread and lentil soup make even a simple order feel like a full experience.
I’m also a fan of the direct-order option through their own website because it helps avoid third-party app markups.
The main downside is availability. They are closed every Monday, and the restaurant does not open until late morning, so this is not the place for an early bite.

Perfectly juicy, tender pieces of chicken
Parking here was very convenient. The staff here are absolutely lovely. The chicken shawarma plate was perfect. Perfectly juicy, tender pieces of chicken, lightly charred just enough to give that smoky flavor without overpowering the spices. It came with a bowl of light lentil soup – simple and comforting. And the soft, triangular slices of bread were the perfect companions for the artistically spread hummus – tear, scoop, repeat, happily. Honestly, just glad this was our dinner. Would happily come back for round two.

By far our best meal
We are in town for a conference and were so excited to find Zaman. It was by far our best meal. The chicken shawarma was delicious, and the fresh pita was amazing. It also came with lentil soup as an appetizer. Portions were big and I have enough food for another meal. Service was wonderful as well!
