If you own a property in the city, you know that trees have a lot to contend with, from heavy spring snow to hot, dry summers.
That’s why finding the right arborist is so important. Healthy, well-maintained trees not only improve safety but also boost curb appeal, much like quality landscaping.
I looked into some of the most trusted arborists in Denver to find professionals who understand the local climate and know how to keep trees thriving.
Whether you’re dealing with overgrown branches or trying to avoid costly issues that could lead to garage door repair, the experts on this list can help.
These are the pros homeowners trust to keep their properties safe, healthy, and looking their best year-round.

1. Ross Tree Company

Website: https://rosstree.net/
Address: 80 S Galapago St
Contact: 303-871-9121
Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Since the late 1970s, Ross Tree Company has been one of those names that keep coming up. And that experience really shows in the way they approach tree care.
Instead of focusing only on removals and trimming, they put a lot of emphasis on keeping trees healthy for the long run.
They take a proactive approach to helping property owners address issues like pests and disease before they become major problems.
What stood out to me was their expertise in more complicated projects. Whether it’s navigating permits or managing trees in busy urban areas, they seem to have a deep understanding of how the process works.
However, this level of expertise can come with a higher price tag than you might find elsewhere. They’re also only available on weekdays, so scheduling a consultation may require a little extra planning if your weekdays are packed.
I got 3 bids ad theirs was the best
This company was the BOMB….from the estimate to the work done. Paul and his two guys came Tuesday and did a GREAT job on 3 large trees that were very over grown. They look awesome and the cleanup was excellent….you’d never know they were here and hauled off enough wood to make another tree. I got 3 bids ad theirs was the best by about $220+ Thx Ross!!

No pressure to buy services I didn’t need
Ross Tree Company was fantastic! I had them check my crabapple tree for a possible fungal infection, and the arborist explained it was just normal bark shedding for that species. He gave helpful tips on pruning, fertilizing, and watering—no pressure to buy services I didn’t need. Honest, knowledgeable, and friendly. I’ll definitely use them in the future!

2. Donovan Arborists

Donovan Arborists is a great choice if you’re looking for a company that thinks beyond basic tree trimming. They focus heavily on soil health and long-term tree care, helping trees stay strong and healthy while reducing the need for harsher treatments later on.
If you have a tree in a tight spot near a garage, fence, or other structures, their crew knows how to work carefully without causing unnecessary damage.
They can often handle technical removals without bringing in large cranes, which may help keep costs down.
The main drawback is that they’re often booked well in advance. During busy seasons, it can take several weeks to get on the schedule.
Occasional delays can happen as well when earlier jobs run longer than expected. Still, many homeowners feel the quality of work makes the wait worthwhile.
High quality work from a friendly and knowledgeable staff
Donovan Arborists have done work for us on several occasions (everything from saving us after a tree fell on our house the day we moved in, to treating our ash trees), and would highly recommend to anyone. High quality work from a friendly and knowledgeable staff, all at a fair price

They allowed me to break up the bill into two payments
I recommend Donovan. Had a big tree that was dying and they handled it one day. They were the second lowest estimate out of 5+. The lowest bidder never got back to me. The difference was only a few hundred and they allowed me to break up the bill into two payments. I am happy I went with Donovan.

3. Environmental Tree Care LLC

Website: https://environmentaltreecarellc.com/
Address: 363 W Evans Ave
Contact: 303-368-8454
Hours: Available 24 hours
With over 20 years of experience, Environmental Tree Care LLC has built a reputation for addressing both residential and commercial projects efficiently.
Since they own and operate their own heavy equipment, they’re often able to keep pricing competitive while getting jobs done without relying on outside contractors.
Along with tree services, they also offer landscaping and snow removal, making them a practical choice for homeowners and property managers who want one company for multiple outdoor needs throughout the year.
The main drawback is that their operation feels a bit larger and less personalized than some arborist-only firms. Communication can also be somewhat limited during busy periods.
Very professional and experts at their craft
Environmental Tree Care offers a white glove and worry free service. They removed 5 massive trees in an 8’ space in my backyard, carried them over my home without a hitch in record time. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to handle this type of project. Very professional and experts at their craft!

If you love your trees like I do, call these guys
Environmental Tree Care has been the only tree service I have used for over 3 years now. They are fair, easy to work with and do great work. They have brought one of my trees back from serious decline and advised on numerous others. Recently, they took a worn looking ash and turned it into quite the parkway tree. If you love your trees like I do, call these guys!

4. Colorado Premier Tree Care

Address: 1048 S Patton Ct
Contact: 720-990-7004
Hours: Monday – Sunday: 7 :00 AM – 6:00 PM
If you’re the type of homeowner who likes knowing exactly what to expect before a project starts, Colorado Premier Tree Care is worth a look.
They place a big emphasis on transparency, and their Price Match Guarantee helps take some of the uncertainty out of hiring an arborist.
Beyond pricing, they bring a lot of local knowledge to the table. Their team understands the challenges that Front Range trees face and offers services designed to keep them healthy through Colorado’s changing seasons.
They also work with Homeowners Associations (HOAs) and larger communities to create more diverse landscapes, which can help reduce the risk of widespread disease problems.
Unfortunately, specialized expertise comes at a cost. Their rates reflect the equipment, training, and safety standards required for professional tree care.
Plus, demand tends to spike during spring and fall, so emergency work during those periods may come with higher pricing.
They were efficient, professional, and reasonable
We had such a good experience with Bill and the team at Colorado Premier Tree Care. They were efficient, professional, and reasonable, and I also appreciated their honesty about what needed to come down completely vs. what could do with a trim and save us some money. We’ve already used them twice and plan to use them for anything else we need in the future!

5. Arbor Care Tree Solutions

Website: https://www.arborcaretreesolutions.com/
Address: 1130 S Santa Fe Dr
Contact: 303-949-6818
Hours: Available 24 hours
When a tree emergency happens, most people aren’t thinking about getting multiple quotes or researching companies for hours; they just want someone reliable to answer the phone and show up quickly. That’s where Arbor Care Tree Solutions really shines.
Their 24/7 emergency service means you can reach an actual person at any time, which can be a huge relief after a storm or unexpected tree damage.
I also like that every job involves an ISA-certified arborist. It shows they’re focused on doing the work properly, whether it’s emergency tree removal or routine pruning.
Once the work is done, the property is left looking neat and well cared for.
Just be sure to ask what’s included in the quoted price, since stump chip removal may be billed separately for larger projects.
You also need to take note that during major storms, response times and communication can occasionally be affected by high demand.
Planted 3 new trees in the front of our home
Tho as the owner took great pride in his work and crew and for good reason. They were terrific -safe and considerate through all parts of this job. Their team first trimmed and removed the deadwood from all of our trees and planted 3 new trees in the front of our home and they look beautiful! Great job!

They were very responsive
We scheduled tree work with Arbor Care and had a miscommunication with them over the start date which was not their fault. They were very responsive and professional in resolving the matter and we would not hesitate to use them again.
