There is nothing quite like the perfect bite of crispy skin coated in rich, savory sauce.
I’ve always had a soft spot for chicken wings. After more game nights and casual dinners than I can count, I started paying closer attention to which spots in Denver actually deliver on flavor instead of just hype.
To get a clearer picture, our team set out to explore some of the most talked-about wing spots across the city. We visited casual pubs, neighborhood grills, and mid-range eateries, comparing everything from crispiness and seasoning to sauce quality.
This guide is based on that hands-on search and highlights the spots that consistently impressed us.
How much do chicken wings cost in Denver?
Chicken wings in Denver generally cost between $1.25 and $2.00 per wing, with a typical ten-piece order ranging from $12 to $20 depending on the establishment.

1. Fire On The Mountain

Address: 3801 W 32nd Ave, Denver, CO 80211
Contact: +1 (303) 480-9464
Hours: Daily 11:00AM–10:00PM
If you’re hunting for a spot that actively minimizes its environmental footprint, you will certainly enjoy this neighborhood gem. Fire On The Mountain operates as a Denver Certified Green Restaurant with an impressive 75% waste diversion rate.
Plus, they cater brilliantly to plant-based diets with seitan and cauliflower options. On my visit with some vegan friends, we were thoroughly impressed by how satisfyingly crunchy the meatless options turned out.
They also craft a fantastic lineup of over 15 distinct, housemade sauces. Some of our favorites include the sweet-and-spicy raspberry habanero.
That said, the wings are quite small, which might leave you feeling hungry given the high pricing. The excellently cooked, juicy textures make the expense feel worthwhile, though.

Honestly some of the best wings I’ve ever had! Even though the wings are smaller (because they use chicken w/o steroids), it’s worth it because of the flavor! I got the “El Jefe” & “Cilantro Lime” flavors for the sauces and wow they were absolutely delicious! Beware the El Jefe flavor is SPICY!!! It’s made with capsaicin so it’s really spicy even for spice lovers like myself, but I’d eat it all over again. Highly recommend to come here on Tuesday for some good wing deals (and $7 burgers!), but there’s deals every day of the week too.

Here is what we tried, buffalo chicken nachos, cilantro lime wings, fried Oreos, and the Blue Pony and John Daly cocktails. It was all awesome, and served with a good server, Ryan. We are definitely going to be back during our visit!
Quick edit: we went back and I had the Fuego Crunch wrap and it was so good! We also tried the fried pickles and onion rings, both were solid but not as great as the entrees and nachos.

2. Wing Slingers

Website: wingslingerswings.com
Address: 7325 E Iliff Ave, Denver, CO 80231
Contact: +1(303) 353-2160
Hours: Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday 11:00AM–9:00PM | Monday, Friday to Saturday 11:00AM–10:00PM
Craving generously meaty portions that deliver a mouth-watering, award-winning flavor? Wing Slingers might be right up your alley.
When we’ve gone, the focus seems to be less on overcomplicated menus and more on wings with a solid range of scratch-made sauces, from milder to noticeably fiery.
We also noticed the ranch comes out tasting fresh and tangy, and it’s prepared daily, which adds a nice touch to the meal.
On top of that, they run value-style combo meals, which makes it easier to get a full order without spending too much.
The service is generally quick and friendly, and the overall vibe feels pretty casual and welcoming.
The early weekday closures can be a bit of a letdown, though. Having to pay extra fees for tiny cups of basic dipping sauces also rubs some diners the wrong way.

Was looking for some uncomfortably hot wings, and they absolutely nailed it – coming from a guy with pretty high standards for wings.
I picked the hottest sauce available, and it was extremely hot, but not “deliberately give yourself food poisoning” hot. Even better than the heat the buffalo flavor still comes through and you dont JUST taste peppers like a lot of hot wings. Combine it with some really high quality chicken, and they are honestly the best wings I think I’ve ever had.

Great wings and great service. Ordered the garlic hot and the garlic parmesean which were nom, However the chili cheese fries was too salty for me. Kid devoured 8 wings instantly and is picky about wings so good place.

3. Genna Rae Wings & More

Website: gennaraeswings.com
Address: 1819 E 28th Ave, Denver, CO 80205
Contact: (720) 287-3523
Hours: Monday to Saturday 11:00AM–7:30PM
If you’re craving something comforting with a Caribbean twist, you have to check out Genna Rae Wings & More.
The owner and head chef draws direct culinary inspiration from his upbringing in the Virgin Islands. He prepares all in-house sauces entirely from scratch, so they never taste like the ones from other chicken wing spots.
What stood out most for me was how the wings came out. They were crispy on the outside but still really juicy inside.
The sides also felt more intentional than standard fast-casual options, especially things like the sweet potato salad, which had a nice tangy balance.
Service was friendly and welcoming, and the overall experience felt very community-oriented.
One limitation is that it’s strictly takeout or off-premises dining, so there’s no indoor seating if you’re hoping to sit down and eat there.
There are also extra charges for additional condiments, which is something to keep in mind when ordering.

Genna Rae’s is the truth. Great food!! Ribs, jerk chicken, catfish, wings, greens, Mac & cheese, baked beans and the surprisingly good sweet potato salad… oh an that rum cake was 🔥. The customer service is off the charts. Naz was amazing, very professional and ultra personable. Can’t wait to go back again before we get outta town.

The best wings I’ve had from Springs to Denver. The flavors were amazing and even the fries were cooked to perfection. Absolutely some of the best service I’ve ever received. The owners son is very well spoken, fast and wears a huge smile. Oh and the chicken sandwich was so freaking delicious. Crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle. If there were more stars I’d pick them all.

4. PIPER INN

Website: piperinn.com
Address: 2251 S. Parker Rd., Denver, CO 80231
Contact: (303) 755-0771 | [email protected]
Hours: Daily 10:00AM–12:00AM
Stepping into PIPER INN feels like walking into a long-standing neighborhood spot that’s built a lot of its identity over time.
What sets this place apart is how the wings are prepared. They’re tossed in a wok, which gives them a sticky, crisp coating that feels a bit different from standard bar-style wings.
The menu also mixes classic bar food with Cantonese-inspired dishes, so you get a wider range than you might expect at first glance.
A friend I spoke with mentioned really enjoying the rotating craft beer selection, and the loaded fries seem to be a go-to comfort item people order alongside drinks.
The option to choose different heat levels also makes the wings feel more customizable depending on your tolerance for spice.
Just note that the kitchen doesn’t open right away with the bar, so food service can lag a bit. It also closes earlier than the bar, which limits late-night food options if you’re staying out later.

Sizable and crispy wings, great vibes, lots of TVs. The Chinese chicken wings (medium) were as good as any I’ve had in the Denver metro with the dry rub right behind, buffalo a close third, gotta try em all. Coupla Guinnesses for St Patty’s. Piper Inn feels like an institution, and I can see why

It’s probably some of the best chicken wings in Denver. The wings are large, and if you ask, they’ll make them crispy. The Garlic parm are a must try. I would love it if they one day offer a lemon pepper dry rub. I can’t be the only one who’s asked, right ?.

5. BLAZING BIRD (Downtown Denver)

Website: blazingbird.com
Address: 550 N Broadway B, Denver, CO 80203
Contact: +1(720) 419-2927
Hours: Monday to Wednesday and Sunday 11:00AM–9:00PM | Thursday to Saturday 11:00AM–10:00PM
If you’re looking for Nashville hot chicken that actually brings the heat, BLAZING BIRD really commits to that style.
When we went, the spice builds fast and sticks with you. This is especially true on the higher heat levels, which they label with their own custom terms.
Their comeback sauce also shows up in a lot of items, so there’s a consistent flavor running through most of the menu.
What stood out to us was how much variety they pack in beyond just chicken sandwiches. You’ll see things like tacos and burritos that lean more street-food style.
The loaded burritos in particular are pretty filling since they basically roll side dishes into the wrap. The smashed burgers are also a solid option if you’re not in the mood for chicken.
While extended weekend hours easily accommodate the downtown crowds, a notable drawback is the early weekday closures that restrict evening dining.
There’s also a bit of a limitation with their digital ordering system, since you can’t always join a queue or place orders outside of active service hours.
Customer Reviews
Perfect fast casual place to grab some spicey chicken. I had the Caesar salad with medium spiced chicken on top. Simple salad, but hit the spot. Also tried the seasoned fries (decent) and the fried pickle chips – really liked, especially the sweet and slightly spicy dipping sauce served on the side.
There’s a nice outdoor patio area with cheerful red tables and chairs.
