Whether you’re searching for a memorable post-dinner treat or planning ahead with a show-stopping cake delivery, the city’s pastry scene offers plenty of tempting options.
With so many bakeries and dessert spots competing for attention, though, it’s not always easy to know where to start.
To make things easier, I’ve explored Denver’s lively neighborhoods, fork in hand, to uncover the most distinctive sweet creations. Here are my top picks for the best dessert shops in Denver to cure those cravings.

1. Inventing Room Dessert Shop – Tickets Required

Website: https://www.tirdenver.com/
Address: 4433 W 29th Ave #101, Denver, CO 80212
Contact: 303-960-6656 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Stepping into The Inventing Room feels less like entering a dessert shop and more like walking onto a whimsical sci-fi set.
The entire experience blends science and sweets, with theatrical techniques like liquid nitrogen used to create visually stunning treats right before your eyes.
I visited them last week, and watching my liquid nitrogen ice cream billow with icy smoke was an undeniable thrill that made the frosty dessert taste even better.
Plus, they update their offerings based on seasonal inspiration. That’s why every visit promises a fresh, frosty flavor discovery.
The ticketed format is another plus, since one upfront price typically covers the full multi-course demonstration without surprise add-ons.
You need to plan ahead, though. Their strict pre-purchased ticket model means they can’t accommodate spontaneous walk-in guests when a sudden craving hits.
Definitely a place to visit when in Denver!
Great combination of creativity, flavors and science! How many times have you seen someone make a hollow sugar ring using levitation? Then doing that up with custard and fancy decorations for a unique dessert? Or using video games to make innovative desert science. Plus everything is made using liquid nitrogen- the ice team included- fresh and on the spot! Definitely a place to visit when in Denver!

2. Mango Mango Dessert – Glendale

Address: 1144 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80246
Contact: (720) 390-7671

Craving something vibrant and bursting with natural sweetness? Mango Mango Dessert specializes in authentic Hong Kong-style juice and soups. They use sophisticated handmade techniques alongside fresh fruit to craft delightfully textured sweets.
They rely heavily on high-quality tropical fruits as their primary sweeteners, keeping the dishes feeling wonderfully light rather than heavy or syrupy.
You will find an extensive selection beyond their namesake ingredients, including earthy green tea and rich durian bowls.
The modern, clean interior makes it an excellent spot to sit down with friends and savor a late-night treat, especially since they stay open late.
Just keep in mind that their heavy reliance on imported tropical ingredients means you will pay a higher premium here compared to a standard neighborhood ice cream parlor.
Easily one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.
Visited Mango Mango Dessert for the first time and absolutely loved it. I tried their signature dessert, the layered mango snowcloud, and it was amazing. Easily one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The price was reasonable, and the taste was outstanding. The presentation was also very appealing, and the overall experience felt refreshing. I would definitely visit again to try more items from their menu.

First time visiting the place, the desserts were very tasty and the service staff was friendly. I will return later to order the same thing or maybe I will try something new. I hope they maintain the same quality always!

3. Sweet Sweetz Ice Cream and Desserts

Website: https://www.sweetsweetz.com/
Address: 2325 E 28th Ave, Denver, CO 80205

Hours: Wednesday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM; Friday – Saturday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM; Sunday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Nothing quite matches the nostalgic joy of stepping into a true neighborhood staple like Sweet Sweetz Ice Cream and Desserts. Serving the historic Skyland area, this cozy spot focuses on classic comfort treats.
One thing that really stands out is their emphasis on warm, freshly baked cobblers paired with cold, creamy ice cream.
For example, I recently devoured a generous serving of their daily-made peach cobbler. The contrast between the warm, gooey fruit and the frozen vanilla base was utterly magnificent.
Beyond that, they make a clear effort to be inclusive, offering rotating dairy-free (DF) and vegan (V) scoops so guests with dietary restrictions always have options.
All of this is complemented by a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere that reflects the owners’ deep local roots.
Sadly, you’ll have to look elsewhere for early-week sugar rushes. The shop remains entirely closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Fantastic!
Sweet little family run dessert shop. Wonderful assortment of delicious pies, cheesecake, hard and soft serve ice cream….you can even throw a piece of pie into a milkshake! We tried the cherry crumble pie alamode and apple pie alamode…fantastic! There is even a giant checkers game that you can play.

You just know it was made with love.
I love it here. The owners are super sweet and you can tell they love what they do which makes their dessert even more delicious because you just know it was made with love. They have whole pies that you can order in advance on their website, I ordered a whole blue berry pie for only $15. I will be ordering dessert here for every holiday. May their business grow in prosperity!

4. Parfait Co.

Website: https://www.parfaitco.com/
Address: 13455 W Colfax Ave, Golden, CO 80401
Contact: (720) 830-6340 | [email protected]
Hours: Wednesday – Sunday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Pick Up Only)
An elegant presentation can elevate a simple sweet into a luxurious gift, and Parfait Co. fully embraces that idea.
The bakery excels at French-inspired artistry. They craft sophisticated entremets and delicate macarons that balance nuanced flavors with precision.
Rather than leaning on overly sweet profiles, the kitchen uses premium chocolate and high-quality fruit purées to create pastries that are both refined and visually striking.
As a result, each multi-layered mousse cake resembles a miniature sculpture, making them ideal centerpieces for upscale celebrations.
For larger events, they also offer custom catering solutions. They provide beautifully arranged platters suited for corporate gatherings or special occasions.
That said, their strict operational model is worth noting. This location is pick-up only, so there’s no option to sit and enjoy your desserts on-site immediately after purchase.
The best dessert I’ve had in my entire life.
You MUST stop here for pastries. Absolutely breathtaking. The Sofia was the best dessert I’ve had in my entire life. The shop owner is so lovely and talented – I adore this wonderful place she’s created!!

5. The Dirty Islander

Website: https://thedirtyislander.com/
Address: 3860 Tennyson St #307, Denver, CO 80212
Contact: 720-869-3669
Hours: Available 24/7
There’s no rule saying you can’t enjoy a frosty treat at three in the morning, and The Dirty Islander fully leans into that idea. Delivering a lively tropical tiki vibe, this spot serves gourmet shaved ice layered with exotic flavors like lychee and passionfruit.
Inside, the bright, colorful decor creates a mini-vacation atmosphere. This makes it an easy choice for social, high-energy group hangouts.
Even better, you’re encouraged to build your own customizable bowls. It’s easy to pile chewy mochi and sweet condensed milk over a finely shaved ice base.
Thanks to their round-the-clock hours (until ingredients sell out), it’s also a surprisingly convenient solution for late-night cravings.
Of course, there is one tradeoff to consider. The appeal of giant bowls of icy shaved treats can fade a bit during the colder months, when something warm might sound far more tempting.
Thanks for the unexpected dessert!!
My boyfriend and I found this place on accident last night and are SO excited to have a new cookie spot. These cookies are the perfect soft in the middle with a crunch on the outside, have really innovative flavors, and are absolutely worth the price given how huge and delicious they are. We already have family who want to try them when they come to town! Plus, the staff is incredibly nice, both in person and via text when giving updates on your order, which took it to an even better level for us. Thanks for the unexpected dessert!!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
This place is amazing! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. They helped me build the perfect birthday dessert for my wife’s 30th birthday and it was awesome! They make the best cookies we’ve ever had and also provided above and beyond excellent customer service. They hand delivered the dessert into the restaurant we were eating dinner at, with candles, a lighter and a custom box design! We will be venturing into Denver just for their cookies again, thank you!!
