Leaving your furry best friend behind is never easy, but discovering a facility that replaces standard kennels with twenty-square-foot loft-style private suites changes everything.

When I boarded my Golden Retriever here last month, their proprietary mobile application provided comprehensive webcam access and seamlessly centralized my booking.

They even include complimentary daycare on your drop-off and pick-up days.

The staff undergoes extensive training in canine behavior and emergency protocols, ensuring your pet enjoys their dedicated rest periods safely.

That said, owners must remember to pre-measure and package all meals. Failing to do so incurs an automatic daily surcharge on your invoice.

If you’re also searching for reliable dog trainers, chatting with their highly capable caregivers is a fantastic starting point.

Pros

  • Extensive staff training
  • Dedicated resting periods
  • Included medication administration
  • Late pick-up flexibility

Cons

  • Late pick-up fees
  • Meal packaging surcharge

Bark is wonderful! I take my dog there every week for daycare just so that she can play and romp and she comes back exhausted. I watch her on the live webcams and it’s hilarious. The people there are so kind with her and pickup/dropoff is always efficient. I also board her there when I go out of town and it’s so nice to have the piece of mind that she’s in great care. Highly recommend this place!

Having just moved to Denver, I needed a great place to board my German Shepherd when I travel. Bark! conducted a 5-hour ‘Greet and Meet’ to make sure my dog was compatible with other dogs. I appreciate knowing that they had done that with each dog there. Nice.

Kaleigh and I found a home for her when I travel.

2. Wag Hotels – Denver

Address: 24735 E 75th Ave, Denver, CO 80249

Hours: Available 24/7

Frequent travelers know how stressful it can be to coordinate pet care around early departures, which makes Wag Hotels – Denver feel especially convenient. Its location right next to the airport takes a lot of pressure off a tight travel schedule.

The premium-style setup also gives the place more of a pet hotel feel than a typical kennel. The Ultra Suites with full-sized beds add to that upscale impression.

One feature that really stands out is the live camera streaming to a mobile app. Being able to check in on your dog throughout their stay adds real peace of mind.

On-site vehicle parking and a direct terminal shuttle also help simplify travel logistics, and their 24/7 operations make drop-offs and pick-ups flexible at any hour.

Dogs also participate in group socialization, and staff handle medication routines without much hassle.

Just keep in mind that tours are not allowed until your dog’s medical records have been reviewed and approved, which can delay first-time visits if paperwork is incomplete.

Pros

  • Round-the-clock availability
  • Included medication setup
  • Customizable daily services
  • Daily playtime included

Cons

  • Restricted initial visits
  • Strict room size caps

Customer Reviews

Wonderful experience using WAG to board my golden retriever for a few days while I traveled. The check in process was easy and they provided a shuttle to DIA. I enjoyed the frequent updates and the report card at the end. Baloo came home happy + very tired. We will definitely be using WAG again in the future.

My dog has separation anxiety and because of that I hate having to board him. After his first stay (7 day boarding) I was nervous to pick him up. Of course he was happy to see me but he was also saying his goodbyes to the staff as I was checking out.

Best things about this place:

Flexible drop off times.

Friendly staff.

Daily update pictures.

Camera to check in during play time.

I don’t have any complaints. But honestly I think it’s a fair price for the service and flexibility of airport drop offs!

3. Camp Bow Wow Denver Central

camp-bow-wow-denver-central

Website: campbowwow.com/denver-central
Address: 1221 S. Cherokee St., Denver, CO 80223
Contact: (719) 800-9307
Hours: Monday to Friday 6:30AM–7:00PM | Saturday 7:00AM–7:00PM | Sunday 8:00AM–11:00AM, 4:00PM–7:00PM

Clear, upfront pricing can make a huge difference when choosing a boarding facility, and this place really leans into that idea.

Their base rate covers most core services without piling on surprise add-ons, which makes budgeting feel much simpler. They also don’t charge extra for administering necessary medications.

I stopped by to take advantage of their complimentary first visit with my puppy, and seeing that daycare time and bedtime snacks were already included helped calm some of those first-time boarding nerves.

The nightly rate, usually around fifty to sixty-five dollars, also includes constant supervision from staff trained in CPR.

Another thing that stood out was how thoughtfully the play yards are organized. Dogs are grouped by size and energy level, which helps keep the environment calmer and reduces stress.

The main downside is their strict cancellation policy. Missing the two-day notice window means losing your prepaid deposit, so planning ahead is important.

Pros

  • Safety certified team
  • Structured socialization
  • Continuous professional monitoring
  • Risk-free trial visit

Cons

  • Early checkout mandate
  • Strict cancellation terms

We like Camp Bow Wow for lots of reasons. We’ve got a dog that’s about 1.5 years old – from a shelter so she’s a little shy of people. But we’ve seen staff (on the doggie cam app) take a moment to give her some attention when she’s sitting by herself. So nice to know they’re paying attention to all pets. We also had to do last minute boarding, and where they were full – they have many locations around Denver so we found another location where staff simply sent over our dogs info so she was all set to board.

I cannot recommend this place enough!! My dog Gator has been going here for a little over a year and he is so excited when we pull up. They love him and it is clear that he loves them! They are not only great with the pets but they also have unmatched customer service!! Camp Bow Wow off of Cherokee St is truly amazing! Shout out to the owner Shellie and the Manager Bailey who have made my life so much easier!

4. Bark and Play Denver Dog Daycare and Boarding

Website: barkandplaydenver.com
Address: 131 Kalamath St, Denver, CO 80223

Hours: Monday to Friday 6:30AM–7:00PM | Saturday 8:00AM–7:00PM

Finding the right outdoor daycare for pets often takes the same level of thought as choosing a preschool, especially when you want a space that feels safe, structured, and engaging.

Bark and Play Denver Dog Daycare and Boarding stands out with a large 4,000-square-foot outdoor yard that actually uses natural grass. There are also shaded rest areas and small pools for added enrichment.

The layout also works well for different dog sizes, including quieter zones for more sensitive or easily overwhelmed pups.

Getting started is also very welcoming, with a three-day free trial that lets pets settle in before any payment is required.

Once enrolled, pricing stays fairly straightforward. The daytime play is included in the initial drop-off fee, which helps avoid unexpected add-ons.

One thing to plan around is their Saturday schedule. A strict three-hour midday closure can make weekend drop-offs or pickups less flexible, especially around lunchtime.

Pros

  • Accommodates all dog sizes
  • Dedicated quiet rest areas
  • Strict safety item policies
  • Family-owned atmosphere

Cons

  • Saturday midday closures
  • Late pickup fees

Kim and the rest of the staff are super nice and care deeply about your dog.  They understand that life happens and will bend over backwards to help.  My wife went into labor earlier then expected and we had to board our dog for a night at Bark and Play.  We “broke the rules” by not scheduling the boarding before it was needed, but the staff was incredibly supportive and took care of everything for us no questions asked.  Can’t say enough good things about this place.  Plus our dogs loves them and their facility 🙂

My dog goes to Bark n Play and always comes home happy and tired. They put up with his constant peeing on things (thank you and let me know when you need a new mop 😆) and they have cameras so you can see what’s going on during the day). If I ever needed to board my dogs I would choose this facility as well. Thanks Bark n Play!

5. The Sniff Shack

the-sniff-shack

Website: sniffshack.com
Address: 5300 W 44th Ave, Denver, CO 80212
Contact: (303) 941-3835 | Fax: 303-845-9522
Hours: Monday to Friday 6:30AM–7:00PM | Saturday to Sunday 9:00AM–6:00PM

Staying connected to your dog while traveling feels pretty seamless here, thanks to complimentary webcam access and daily report cards sent straight to your phone. It adds a bit of reassurance, especially when you are away for a few days.

The Sniff Shack also takes a calmer approach to boarding by using private suites rather than traditional kennel-style fencing. These suites tend to create a quieter, less stressful environment for most dogs.

They maintain a low staff-to-dog ratio and follow the Pet Animal Care and Facilities Act (PACFA) standards, which reinforce a strong focus on safety and supervision.

One interesting part of their process is the required five-hour temperament evaluation, which helps ensure dogs are grouped with compatible playmates.

That said, there are a couple of costs to plan for. While the enrichment setup is solid, owners of senior pets should note that medication administration incurs a daily surcharge that can add up over longer stays.

Pros

  • Low staff-to-pup ratio
  • Strict temperament testing
  • Specialized play equipment
  • State regulations compliance

Cons

  • Late drop-off penalties
  • Daily medication surcharges

Customer Reviews

I board my dog here whenever I leave town, wouldn’t trust anyone else with my furbaby! It’s great to be able to check in during play time, they send cute report cards with pictures letting me know how she did that day. My dog is timid and shy towards people, I have caught the workers on camera being so patient and gentle towards her when it’s time to leave the play area. I appreciate the staff going above and beyond to make me feel at ease when Im away. Highly recommend the sniff shack to any dog parent.

I am so happy we found the Sniff Shack! Every staff member I have interacted with has been very friendly. The facility seems very clean and tidy, which is extremely difficult given that furry friends can be quite messy. I love how easy it is to use their reservation system and I love seeing their report cards of how they did and even who their best dog friends were for that day!
