Contact: (303) 597-3666

Hours: Monday – Sunday, 5:00 AM – 3:00 AM

Walking into this pink-walled haven feels like entering a sugar-fueled dreamscape. Voodoo Doughnut is considered a pioneer of gourmet oddities, having invented the wild pastry category in 2003 with creations like the bacon maple bar.

I recently ordered a dozen for a weekend gathering, and the sheer weight of the cereal-topped dough completely blew my mind.

They offer over 50 handcrafted flavors, including a massive vegan menu that ensures no one misses out on the fun.

The location stays open until the wee hours, making it an absolute lifesaver for midnight cravings.

However, I found it frustrating that their high demand means your favorite flavor might completely sell out if you visit late.

Pros

  • Over 50 handcrafted flavor options available
  • Massive selection of vegan treats
  • Night-owl friendly hours
  • Skip-the-line pickup system
  • Readily accessible metro locations

Cons

  • High risk of early sell-outs on popular days

Great Selection And Portions

We just keep coming back! Great selection and portions, you definitely get bank for your buck here. Their donuts are very tasty with many different donuts to choose from. We really appreciate their vegan selection, which are all equally tasty. Definitely stop by for a donut!

Variety, Creativity, and Sweetness

Great spot for variety, creativity and sweetness in doughnuts. If they don’t make it, it doesn’t exist. I suggest trying the voodoo dozen, it gives a little of everything. If you are more of a classic g

Doughnut eater, there is a dozen for you as well. I just can’t remember the name.

2. Parlor Doughnuts

Website: https://www.parlordoughnuts.com/

Address: 95 Lincoln St

Contact: (303) 862-8904

Hours: Monday – Sunday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Craving a bite that shatters into a million buttery flakes? Parlor Doughnuts skips the traditional dense cake base and uses a proprietary layered dough that’s crisp outside and airy inside. The texture mimics a freshly baked croissant.

The shop originated from a specialty coffee brand, meaning their espresso program easily rivals their food. Their artisanal kitchen menu also expands far beyond sweets, offering fantastic savory items like breakfast tacos.

Customers will appreciate the keto-friendly and gluten-friendly creations prepared on separate surfaces.

Unfortunately, my friend with severe sensitivities felt unsafe eating here since the facility could not guarantee a totally nut-free or zero cross-contamination environment.

Pros

  • Unique layered croissant-style texture
  • Small-batch freshness is maintained all day
  • Robust specialty craft coffee menu
  • Dedicated gluten-friendly preparation surfaces

Cons

  • Cannot guarantee zero cross-contamination for severe allergies

Lighter Texture Cronuts

All of the donuts we tried were awesome. They were all cronuts, and the lighter texture nicely balanced out the frosting/toppings. The breakfast sandwich was a bit underwhelming (it is primarily a donut shop after all), but the iced lattes were great.

Gourmet Layered Croissant Donuts

Fun place to get fluffy donuts. They are not your typical donut shop, so if you’re looking for a long john, apple fritter, old fashioned, or even a glazed or raised donut, you’ll want to find another shop. This place offers gourmet “layered” donuts (croissant donuts). They are much more subtle, but still delicious and fun. Here are the flavors in my picture (left to right): mini raspberry filled, mini coconut cream filled, caramel apple, raspberry pistachio, maple bacon, and peanut butter cup. Enjoy!

Address: 3985 Tennyson St Suite 100

Contact: (720) 543-3223

The Salty Donut approaches baking as an evolving art form, using an ever-changing menu of bold flavors to tell stories. Their dedication to innovation means the kitchen staff constantly refines recipes to chase absolute perfection.

I tried their seasonal brown butter glaze last month, and the complex flavor profile instantly hooked me. They pair these preservative-free creations with highly refined teas and espressos sourced from premium purveyors.

The shop space itself weaves seamlessly into the neighborhood, encouraging you to sit down and savor the moment.

But if you prefer celebrating at home with goodies from local cake shops, their same-day delivery app makes getting desserts incredibly convenient.

However, I was disappointed by their strict ordering timeline. I couldn’t schedule a custom event display without a firm 72-hour notice.

Pros

  • Constantly rotating innovative flavor profiles
  • High-end specialty coffee pairings
  • Convenient same-day delivery app
  • Preservative-free ingredients made in-house
  • Guaranteed dietary variety every season

Cons

  • Requires a 72-hour notice for custom orders

Phenomenal Strawberry Shortcake

10/10 incredible!!! We went the Monday after their Grand Opening.. no lines- service was quick and easy. We got 1/2 dozen.. omgooooooodness. Some of the best donuts I’ve ever had in my entire life. The strawberry shortcake- phenomenal!! The brown butter and salt.. phenomenal.. the pumpkin.. the original glazed.. the pistachio.. all amazing. Not overly sweet- like perfect. The dough is amazing.. we cannot wait to go back. It’s a good thing this place is across town from me!!

Amazing Salted Brown Butter

Been wanting to try this place for the brown butter donut and let me say, The hype is Real! The salted brown butter is amazing, glazed donut was one of the best I’ve had! And the pop tart warmed up with glass of milk🤌 Bravo Chef!

Website: https://annasdonutsburritos.com/

Address: 2120 S Broadway E

Contact: (720) 692-3596

Hours: Tuesday – Sunday, 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM; Monday, Closed

Fusing two of the best morning foods into one seamless stop, Anna’s Donuts & Burritos thrives as the original comfort duo. They built their entire brand on the beautiful mashup of pillowy sweet rings and hefty breakfast wraps.

Every single pastry starts with dough crafted by hand at four in the morning. They also use locally sourced ingredients to ensure the utmost quality and consistency.

And I love that they take a true neighborhood approach to service, often memorizing regular customers’ favorite orders.

Unfortunately, when I tried to plan a spontaneous celebration, their kitchen refused my order because they require a firm 48-hour advance notice for custom shapes.

Pros

  • Excellent savory and sweet menu combinations
  • Handcrafted dough prepared fresh daily
  • Locally sourced farm-fresh ingredients
  • On-the-spot satisfaction guarantee policy
  • Smooth online ordering and delivery systems

Cons

  • Strict 48-hour lead time for special requests

Large Selection Of Donuts

I went in after seeing a tik tok showcasing the place and wanted to try the donuts. When I arrived I saw that they had a large selection of donuts and also offered burritos and tacos. I grabbed a cronut (croissant donut) and they even let me use it to make a breakfast sandwich! The burrito and taco were also delicious with great flavor and the al pastor meat was perfect 👌🏽 the cinnamon roll and rest of the donuts were also delicious even though we ate them later because we got full from the savory items.

Made Fresh Every Day

Are you serious?! Stumbled on this place and got the last donuts of the day. Blueberry something on top…OMG these are legit. Talked with her and she said her husband makes them fresh every day! Not overly sweet the flavors just HIT! We live 1.5 hrs away and will be back!

5. LaMar’s Donuts and Coffee

Website: https://www.lamars.com/

Address: 990 W 6th Ave

Contact: (720) 904-5792

Hours: Monday – Saturday, 3:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Sunday, 4:00 AM – 5:00 PM

LaMar’s Donuts and Coffee went through decades of intensive research to perfect this signature recipe before opening the first shop in 1960.

That historic dedication translates directly into incredibly flavorful bites that respect traditional baking methods.

Every single piece is carefully cut and finished by hand on a daily basis. They even managed to remove trans fats from their production without sacrificing that nostalgic taste.

Opening as early as three in the morning, they serve as an essential lifeline for early commuters. Still, I was incredibly disappointed by their schedule. They close by six in the evening and don’t cater to late-night dessert cravings at all.

Pros

  • Traditional hand-cut and hand-finished preparation
  • Recipe contains zero grams of trans fats
  • Over 70 different varieties available daily
  • Opens extremely early for morning commuters

Cons

  • No late-night availability for evening desserts

Worth the Price

LaMar’s is one of the best donuts chains in existence. Not as fast food as Dunkin and not as sugary as Krispy Creme. It is a straight forward American donuts style, fried dough with multiple toppings. It is a little pricey but worth it for flavor. Good call to bring into office if you need too.

Excellent Taste And Quality

Excellent – I love filled doughnuts, and they have quite a variety. Bavarian creme and lemon-filled were my first tries, and both were delicious. Lamar’s bars (creme-filled), maple frosted, white cake donuts, all delectable. The quality of the dough, the fillings, the frosting and glaze, all surpassed the typical Dunkin or grocery store bakery donuts – justifying the higher price with superior taste and quality. Try the absolutely enormous bear claw; you won’t be disappointed!! We WILL be back!!!
