The Best Indoor Playgrounds in Denver for Family Fun

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Play Value: We assessed the variety and quality of the play equipment available at each location. Facilities with diverse physical and sensory activities scored much higher.
  •
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintaining a sanitary environment is crucial for any child-focused facility. We prioritized locations that have strong cleaning protocols and well-maintained structures.
  •
  • Parent Amenities: We looked at how accommodating the space is for the supervising adults. Venues offering comfortable seating, clear sightlines, and food options received higher ratings.
  •
  • Value and Access: We evaluated the overall pricing structures, including drop-in rates and memberships. Play centers providing flexible entry without mandatory long-term commitments stood out immediately.

While adults might prefer unwinding in relaxing saunas or planning a summer trip to local theme parks, kids need engaging environments to jump, climb, and socialize.  Because of that, finding a safe and clean spot where your little ones can burn off energy, regardless of the unpredictable Colorado weather, can be a lifesaver.

Whether you’re a parent needing a break, a nanny looking for daytime activities, or a family planning a birthday bash, Denver has an influx of indoor playgrounds to discover.

Let’s explore the top play centers that offer fantastic experiences for children and peace of mind for you.

Website: https://www.tumblehaus.com/

Address: 1330 W 38th Ave

Contact: (720) 379-3470 / [email protected]

Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm; Happy Hour Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm; Saturday & Sunday Reserved for private parties

Tumble Haus operates as a community-driven indoor play concept that emphasizes parent interaction and socialization alongside active free play.

Instead of dropping kids off, families engage together in a multi-functional space featuring tumbling mats, climbing structures, and a lounge area.

The facility offers an excellent balance of open exploration and guided developmental classes that focus heavily on gross motor skills.

You can easily access the playground through drop-in visits or punch passes, avoiding the pressure of strict monthly memberships.

They even host a unique after-school happy hour session to help parents unwind while the children burn off steam safely.

Because it’s a more compact facility, the total capacity remains somewhat limited. Booking ahead is often necessary since the space fills up very quickly during peak hours.

Pros

  • Promotes movement-based child development
  • Parent-friendly cafe and lounge space
  • Flexible drop-in and punch pass pricing
  • Montessori-inspired sensory play items

Cons

  • Smaller space limits overall capacity
  • Advance reservations often required

Set up beautifully

I had the pleasure of host my son’s first birthday at Tumble Haus. I did the above and beyond package which made everything an ease because all I had to worry about was the food. The kids….and adults enjoyed the play area. This establishment gave the best of both world by having the setup beautifully done and an area to burn off energy. The staff were helpful and made sure everything went according to plan. I definitely recommend Tumble Haus to for you party adventures

Everyone is really friendly.

It’s a great space for kids to play, that feels nice for adults too. The vast majority of parents and caregivers are attentive and intervene if their children aren’t making good choices. Everyone is really friendly. Also, the coffee is good. 😊

2. Kickin’ It Kids Gym

Website: https://kickinitkidsgym.com/

Address: 1435 S Holly St

Contact: (720) 248-7068

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am — 5:30pm; Saturday-Sunday 8:30am — 3:00pm

If you want curriculum-based classes focused on long-term physical development, Kickin’ It Kids Gym provides excellent structured training alongside its open play areas.

The gym combines a traditional indoor playground setup with professional coach-led programs designed to build coordination and confidence. Children as young as six months can begin early movement training here.

Kids love engaging with the climbing walls, trampolines, and obstacle features that actively promote functional fitness.

The open play access allows families to come and go freely throughout the entire day. Plus, there are daily deep cleaning protocols that provide great reassurance for families utilizing the shared gym equipment.

It’s worth noting that caregivers must stay and supervise their children at all times, making it unsuitable for those needing a quick drop-off option. The play areas can also become rather crowded and chaotic during the busiest daytime hours.

Pros

  • Coach-led developmental movement classes
  • Wide variety of active play equipment
  • All-day drop-in access flexibility
  • Clean and safety-focused environment
  • Inclusive sensory-considerate spaces

Cons

  • Requires active parent supervision
  • Crowd management issues during peak times

Our son loved it!

It was our first class today and our son loved it! From the classes to the playground, he didn’t want to leave. On a super high note for us, we saw how he gained so much confidence from the coaches motivating him to try new things, I could see he felt very proud of himself and can’t wait to come back again.

Perfect spot to run off some energy

My kids (3 & 8) are both obsessed with Kickin’ It! The space is great, I love that there is a separate spot for classes and open play. The classes are so fun and the playground is the perfect spot to run off some energy. The coaches/staff are so fun and engaging, the facility is clean, 10/10 recommend

3. Lava Island

Address: 139 West Hampden Avenue, Englewood

Contact: 303-567-6500

Hours: Monday – Thursday 9AM – 9PM; Friday – Saturday 9AM – 10PM; Sunday 9 AM – 9PM

Lava Island serves as a massive indoor play oasis featuring extensive, high-energy attractions for children of all ages.

Families can easily spend an entire day exploring the trampolines, expansive foam pits, and complex multi-level jungle gyms. The facility promotes a screen-free environment dedicated to highly active physical movement.

They even offer special low-noise, reduced-capacity sessions to properly accommodate children with specific sensory sensitivities.

I love the integrated on-site cafe serving pizza and smoothies, allowing everyone to refuel without needing to leave the premises.

After chatting with a fellow mom who recently hosted a party there, she praised the turnkey, themed birthday rooms that kept the kids fully entertained from start to finish.

Every guest must purchase a ticket to enter the designated play zones. This rule means parents have to pay an admission fee just to supervise, which increases the overall outing cost.

Pros

  • Large variety of high-energy attractions
  • All-day play access increases overall value
  • Integrated on-site food and cafe
  • Turnkey themed birthday party hosting
  • Sensory-friendly reduced-noise sessions

Cons

  • Mandatory admission fee for supervising adults
  • Environment can get loud and overstimulating

Very big-kid friendly

Huuuuuge indoor playground with lots of activities to choose from. Very big-kid friendly, but still has a smaller play area for the younger little ones.

Would definitely recommend this place! They also have hourly rate options if you don’t plan to stay the whole day.

Lots of seating and tables as well.

Such a clean and large place! The indoor playground is great as the connects to everything and has a bunch of stuff to do high and low.  The trampoline park is fun and you can access the playground. Lots of seating and tables as well.

4. Spark the Senses Indoor Playground

Website: https://www.sparkthesenses.com/

Address: 8230 S Colorado Blvd, Unit A, Centennial

Contact: (303) 506-5638

Hours: Monday 9am – 4:00pm; Tue – Fri 9am – 6pm

Spark the Senses Indoor Playground features a highly curated, sensory-focused environment specifically designed for infants and young children up to seven years old.

The play space seamlessly integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) concepts with hands-on activities to encourage early cognitive development.

Your little ones can safely explore water play areas, engaging sand pits, and completely dark sensory rooms.

The beautiful aesthetic design utilizes soft colors and structured zones to create a calming atmosphere for everyone. Parents can easily relax in the lounge area while maintaining clear sightlines of the dedicated soft play sections.

And we love how frequent visitors can take advantage of membership perks that include exclusive admission discounts and unlimited coffee.

Because it caters primarily to early childhood development, older siblings will likely find the equipment far less engaging. Walk-in availability is also heavily restricted during busy periods, making advance reservations essential for entry.

Pros

  • Immersive sensory and early STEM activities
  • Safe toddler-specific soft play zones
  • Relaxing, aesthetically pleasing environment
  • Clear sightlines for parent supervision

Cons

  • Limited appeal for older children
  • Strict capacity and reservation requirements

5. Kids Empire Aurora City Place

kids-empire-aurora-city-place

Website: https://www.kidsempire.com/park/aurora

Address: 14140 E Ellsworth Ave Unit D, Aurora

Contact: (720) 585-3001

Hours: Monday to Thursday 10:00 am – 8:00 PM; Friday to Sunday 10:00 am – 10:00 PM

Families looking to maximize their outing will appreciate that Kids Empire provides all-day play access with convenient re-entry privileges.

The facility centers around a massive maze-style play structure packed with climbing obstacles, slides, and interactive visual elements. You can let the kids play all morning, step out for lunch, and return later without paying extra.

The spacious layout accommodates toddlers in dedicated safe zones while offering big-kid areas for the older crowd. Two adults get to enter for free with every child’s ticket, making it a very budget-friendly option for larger families.

In fact, adults are actively encouraged to climb into the structures and share the fun together.

However, we heard that some visitors have experienced negative interactions regarding the overall professionalism of the staff on the floor. A few families noted instances of employees communicating poorly with children during busy weekend shifts.

Pros

  • All-day play access with re-entry allowed
  • Free admission for two adults per child
  • Large maze-style climbing structures
  • Separate safe zones for small toddlers

Cons

  • Issues with staff professionalism
  • Poor communication from floor attendants

Very clean, organized, and well-maintained

We’ve had a great experience at Kids Empire — we’ve been here a couple of times! The indoor playground is very clean, organized, and well-maintained, which makes me feel comfortable letting my kids play and explore. They always have so much fun and never want to leave. It’s a wonderful place for kids to burn energy and enjoy themselves. We’ll definitely be coming back!
