Contact: (720) 821-1128 | [email protected]
Hours: Tuesday – Saturday: 7:30 PM – 2:00 AM; Sunday: 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Your Mom’s House Denver heavily prioritizes booking emerging artists and fostering a welcoming, community-driven space for all musical genres. Walking into this quirky spot actually feels like hanging out in a ridiculously cool friend’s basement.
They maintain an authentic, grass-roots aesthetic that strips away the massive barricades found at larger corporate venues.
You get a highly intimate, up-close viewing experience accompanied by crisp, professional-grade sound, thanks to their heavy investment in top-tier Sound Pressure Level (SPL) audio systems.
When we popped in for a late-night jam session last month, the vibrant energy on the light-up dance floor was absolutely magnetic.
The only real downside is the limited standing room. Due to its smaller space, the room becomes highly congested and tough to navigate when a show sells out.
The sound quality has greatly improved.
This is a smaller place w live performances The sound quality has greatly improved. Fun multicolored lit dance floor. I caught a breakbeat show here last night that blew my mind. 💜 Loved the improvements! …

2. The Black Buzzard at Oskar Blues

Address: 1624 Market St, Denver, CO 80202
Contact: (720) 502-3535
Hours: Monday – Sunday: 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Finding a spot that marries killer acoustics with a phenomenal dinner menu is a rare treat. The Black Buzzard at Oskar Blues delivers exactly that.
Operating as a basement-level music den, this spot pairs high-energy shows with an extensive selection of local craft beer.
The experience is easy to structure into a night out. You can enjoy a great burger upstairs before heading down to catch the opening act, making it a seamless food-and-music combo
Despite the underground setting, they use premium lighting fixtures and a high-end sound console for professional audio mixes.
Its prime Market Street location also places you right by downtown Denver’s nightlife, a short walk from major hotels and serviced apartments.
They also offer a handy re-entry policy for patrons 21 and over.
Just keep in mind that the club’s subterranean location presents a slight physical challenge. Guests must descend a flight of stairs to reach the stage, which can pose mobility challenges.
We had a blast.
The black buzzard is a small music venue in the basement of Oskar blues. We went there to see a local band, Conquer Everest. We had a blast. The only downside is you cannot take food from upstairs to downstairs. So we ate some awesome sandwiches upstairs then went back downstairs for some more music. It’s nice to see people giving local bands some place to jam.

I still had a blast.
Great atmosphere for the venue, wish you could hear more of the lyrics than all music, but still had a blast, shout out to “Public Figure” they played amazing show was great, and some of my fav songs were played. Public Figure was the 2nd opening act for “Capture This”, sounded like she had pretty voice but was really hard to hear … maybe too much speaker for venue size? Great selection of beer on tap, lots of “Dale’s”

3. Larimer Lounge

Website: http://larimerlounge.com/
Address: 2721 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205
Contact: (303) 296-1003 | [email protected]
Hours: Thursday: 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM; Friday – Saturday: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM; Sunday: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Larimer Lounge has been operating since 2002 and is well known as a launchpad for alternative bands on the edge of breaking into the mainstream, giving shows a sense of real cultural momentum.
That reputation is part of what makes the experience so compelling. You often get to watch future headliners in an intimate, raw room where the energy feels immediate and unfiltered.
For example, we recently caught a late-night electronic DJ set here. Having access to the outdoor patio offered a welcome breather from the indoor volume, creating a more relaxed space to socialize between sets.
The surrounding neighborhood also adds to the appeal, making it easy to combine a show with a mural walk or a stop at a nearby brewery.
The main drawback is logistical. Parking in this dense area is extremely limited and competitive, so rideshares are usually the most practical option.
Great outdoor patio and live music.
Great outdoor patio and live music on a Saturday afternoon. There are plenty of bubbles for safe socially distant hangouts. Nice cocktail menu and perfect way to take in the sites and sounds of RiNo.

Good crowd. Good service.
Good spot…been a looooooong time since I’d been there. Went to see a buddy’s band play early. Good crowd. Good service. Late night was House music with a live DJ…crowd definitely changed but still fun. Plenty loud. Bathroom upstairs so be aware of that.

4. Ogden Theatre

Website: http://www.ogdentheatre.com/
Address: 935 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80218
Contact: (303) 832-1874
Hours: Depends on show
Converted into one of the premier mid-sized concert halls in the city, Ogden Theatre is a 1919 historic theater offering national touring acts an iconic, multi-tiered room on famous Colfax Avenue.
The space retains beautiful early-20th-century architectural details, providing a visually stunning backdrop.
Because of its 1,600-person capacity, they consistently book highly sought-after musicians. They support those big names with massive, industry-standard Lighting and Sound (L&S) rigs for heavy-technical tours.
Catching an incredible vocalist on the stage here provides an inspiring rush that might prompt you to book a singing lesson the very next day.
If you prefer avoiding the crowded floor, the wrap-around balcony provides excellent, unobstructed sightlines.
Just be prepared for a physically taxing night if you opt for General Admission (GA) tickets. The main viewing area is entirely standing room only on a hard, unsloped floor.
Great place to catch a show!
Great old theater with tier standing room only floor for live concerts. Sound system is really decent and the wrap around balcony upstairs offers great views. Decent drink prices, stage setup is solid and the house lighting system is pretty cool. Oozing with old patina, great place to catch a show!

Good venue for live music overall.
The Ogden is a good venue for live music overall. Make sure you get on the floor or towards the very front of the balcony if you are upstairs. The balcony is very long and deep and if you are towards the back you will not be able to see the show for people’s heads in front of you. Good bars on both levels however which is good. Also, the bathrooms are remarkably clean for a bar.p

5. Two Moons Music Hall

Website: https://www.twomoonsmusic.com/
Address: 2944 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205
Contact: [email protected]
Hours: Tuesday – Thursday: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM; Friday – Saturday: 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM; Sunday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Two Moons Music Hall delivers an upscale lounge aesthetic that combines a high-fidelity sound system with elevated craft cocktails. This creates a polished, groove-focused listening environment.
Rather than a typical all-genre venue, it leans into curated programming. Live shows and DJ sets are often centered on rhythm-driven styles that appeal to a more refined listener experience.
Many events are either free admission or RSVP-only, which helps lower the barrier to entry while still maintaining an intimate, controlled crowd size.
Inside, a complimentary coat and bag check keeps the space uncluttered, making it easy to dance comfortably throughout the night.
The beverage program is another standout. They have premium cocktails you’re unlikely to find in a standard dive bar setting.
The prices, though, are understandably high. With the focus on a luxury lounge atmosphere, drink prices tend to be noticeably higher than average.
Five stars all around.
I went to the karaoke that they have every second Wednesday. I was super impressed by the Band playing any song that we requested. There so awesome! Tasty drinks, chill atmosphere clean bathrooms. Five stars all around
