Cate Hair Makeup is a private studio, known for their polished “soft glam” style that looks great under studio lights.
We interviewed a client who tried their signature package, and she said the way they blended her hair extensions with the makeup was flawless.
We also love that every service comes with a custom touch-up kit, so you get blotting powder and extra lip product to keep your look fresh.
Studio-wise, the location has a really peaceful and controlled vibe, making it the perfect place for headshot sessions or bridal trials.
On top of that, they’re super accommodating, even for those super early morning call times, like 2:45 AM for sunrise elopements.
The only downside is that getting there can be tough since downtown traffic and parking on Santa Fe Drive can be a hassle. And, because they use luxury products, their prices are on the higher side.

They work out of Mauve Studio, which has stunning natural light and is perfect for photography. On top of that, if you’re already doing a photo session at Mauve Studio, you can often get a discount, which is a nice bonus.
The work is so good that you’ll want to get a photo printing service for all your shots later.
On the other hand, if you’re hoping for a dramatic prom updo or full-on theatrical makeup, this isn’t the right fit. Also, since all appointments are at the studio, it’s not as flexible if you want your trial done at home.
