Material and Fabric Options: High-quality materials are essential for lasting results. We prioritized companies with extensive fabric selections, durable performance textiles, and a strong range of leather options.

Craftsmanship and Experience: Great upholstery work goes beyond appearance. It requires real structural expertise. We focused on businesses with skilled upholsterers who bring decades of hands-on experience to their craft.

Location and Accessibility: Convenience matters, especially when dealing with large or heavy furniture. We considered how easy it is to access local showrooms and how wide each shop’s service area extends.

Refreshing your living space or commercial property often comes down to the details, and finding the right craftsmanship makes all the difference.

Instead of discarding worn-out seating, professional restoration breathes new life into your favorite pieces while keeping items out of local landfills.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:00AM–3:00PM

Steve Volz brings over three decades of trade experience to Denver Upholstery, consistently handling projects for major design firms and large restaurants across the state.

They offer complete custom furniture fabrication, along with an extensive inventory of diverse fabrics for precise matching.

Many customers we spoke with really appreciated that the team actively helped identify cost-saving alternatives during planning. Some also praised them for improving the utility of furniture by making cushions reversible.

That said, their limited Monday through Thursday schedule can make dropping off pieces difficult. You should also anticipate longer turnaround times due to their heavy workload.

Pros

  • Budget-conscious guidance during planning
  • Excellent overall value
  • Functional upgrades like reversible cushions
  • Strong owner communication

Cons

  • Restrictive operating hours
  • Extended project timelines

Customer Reviews

I had an amazing experience with Denver Upholstery. From the first conversation, Megan and Steve were friendly, honest, and really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted. Megan walked me through fabric options, gave great recommendations, and made the whole process easy and stress free. The craftsmanship is incredible, my piece came back looking better than I ever expected, truly like new. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their work. I wouldn’t trust my furniture with anyone else and highly recommend Denver Upholstery to anyone looking for quality work and great people.

The team at Denver Upholstery did an amazing job on my chairs – I couldn’t believe how great they looked, and they totally rehabbed the springs and cushions as well. It was a bit of a tricky job, and they delivered perfectly. The reason they have a bit of a wait list is because they are 100% worth the wait. Thanks so much!

Hours: Appointments Only

Giving old furniture a second life is one of those upgrades that feels both practical and rewarding, especially when the results look better than buying something new. Denver Chair Lady takes that idea seriously.

They lean on a strong interior design background to turn simple reupholstery projects into pieces that feel thoughtfully redesigned.

Instead of just changing the fabric, they go deeper by rebuilding internal structures and repairing frames. They also install new webbing to make furniture feel sturdy again.

We had a chance to stop by when a colleague dropped off a vintage dining chair, and the experience felt very hands-on. The staff walked us through different commercial-grade material options and explained which ones would hold up best.

They also stick closely to their timelines, so you have a clear idea of when your piece will be finished.

The biggest trade-off is time. Some projects can take up to three months, and visits are strictly by appointment, which makes spontaneous drop-ins impossible.

Pros

  • Guided fabric selection assistance
  • Durable commercial-grade materials
  • Reliable project timelines
  • Broad furniture style expertise

Cons

  • Extended turnaround times
  • Appointment-only operations

Customer Reviews

I’m blown away by the quality of Ashlee’s upholstery work, and her expertise when picking colors and fabric. I originally went in hoping to use a mustard boucle, but her discerning eye steered me towards ‘basil’. Despite there being thousands of fabric options in her studio, she was helpful in narrowing it down and not making it overwhelming.

Fully recommend – she’s the Swiss Army knife of upholstery. Being an interior designer by trade really went a long way with someone (like myself) who has never had anything upholstered before. I’m excited to bring more pieces to her in the future!

Ashlee did a wonderful job reupholstering this old chair that my husband inherited from his grandpa. I appreciated her taking time to meet me at the design center to pick the perfect fabric, and for turning this beauty into something we’ll continue to treasure for years to come.

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday 10:00AM–4:00PM

CushionWorld has been serving Colorado for nearly 40 years, and that long history shows in how streamlined their process is.

With an on-site custom workroom producing hundreds of pieces each month, they’re well-equipped to handle both simple refreshes and more involved upholstery projects.

One detail that stands out is how they automatically include practical upgrades, such as protective arm covers and scratch guards. This helps furniture hold up better over time.

We recently spoke with a homeowner who had them redo a worn-out sectional. He mentioned how helpful it was to test different foam options in the showroom before making a final decision.

The staff also actively guides customers through their extensive fabric library, making the selection process feel less overwhelming.

The main trade-offs come down to cost and timing. Fabric prices can climb quickly depending on the material you choose. Their shorter daily hours (about six hours a day) can also make scheduling a bit less flexible than expected.

Pros

  • Guided showroom consultations
  • Diverse foam options for testing
  • Massive fabric library
  • Quick email estimate process

Cons

  • Limited operating schedule
  • Variable material pricing

4. Phillip Ramos Upholstery, Inc

Website: ramosupholstery.com
Address: 3835 Elm Street, Unit F & Unit H
Contact: +1(303) 329-6482 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Friday 6:00AM–5:00PM | Saturday 7:00AM–12:00PM

Phillip Ramos Upholstery, Inc, founded in 1994 by Phillip Ramos, feels rooted in tradition. That background shows in the way they approach booth construction.

Their proprietary frame designs are built with durability in mind, which makes them a practical option for high-traffic environments.

They also create full diner packages, including matching table bases, so the finished space feels cohesive rather than pieced together.

One thing that stands out is their willingness to customize dimensions to fit specific layouts. That flexibility makes a noticeable difference when working with tight or oddly shaped spaces.

They also offer limited warranties on custom upholstery, with optional extended care plans for extra protection.

The biggest consideration is timing. Since everything is made to order, there’s no ready-to-buy inventory available. It’s also worth noting that installations in certain three-wall banquette setups may require slight adjustments to overall seating length.

Pros

  • Comprehensive restaurant diner packages
  • Built-in product warranty
  • Premium restoration expertise
  • Customizable booth dimensions

Cons

  • No immediate inventory available
  • Length reductions for enclosed spaces

Customer Reviews

The guys at Phillip Ramos Upholstery did a great job replicating the original cushions for our 1968 Airstream renovation project. They copied the old cushions perfectly and had a great selection of fabrics to choose from. They were always friendly and professional and were reasonably priced for this custom work.

Phillip Ramos Upholstery, Inc. does OUTSTANDING work. The quality of their craftsmanship is unmatched.  I originally got a quote for a club chair that I needed reupholstered.  I was so pleased with the entire process from the quoting, fabric selection, pickup, and delivery, that I decided to have two more chairs reupholstered.  Their prices are more than reasonable.  Moreover, the turnaround time for delivery was way better than any service I have used before them.  I wholeheartedly endorse Phillip Ramos Upholstery.  They are true experts in this area.

5. Aranda Upholstery

aranda-upholstery

Website: arandasupholstery.com
Address: 80 S Federal Blvd
Contact: (303) 922-1821 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00AM–5:00PM | Saturday 9:30AM–1:30PM

Restoring vehicle interiors takes a level of precision that goes well beyond standard furniture work, and Aranda Upholstery seems built around that kind of detail-focused craftsmanship.

Run by a father-and-son team with more than 90 years of combined experience, the shop puts a strong emphasis on custom auto and boat upholstery.

They provide a dedicated auto headliner service, using top-tier materials, and use environmentally safe products to deep-clean existing household items.

They make a clear effort to keep projects within a set budget, often positioning repairs as a practical alternative to buying something entirely new.

Their attention to historical accuracy is also notable, especially for classic car owners who want interiors to look as close to the original design as possible.

It’s just a hassle that they don’t have an online booking system, so scheduling has to be done by phone. They also don’t allow customers to supply their own fabrics due to strict quality standards.

Pros

  • Budget-friendly project focus
  • Authentic historical restorations
  • Transparent financial estimates
  • Economical alternative to new furniture

Cons

  • No automated booking system
  • Strict material exclusivity

Customer Reviews

Aranda’s was amazing! They replaced my 16 year old Mazda MX-5 roof. Working with Lino and his team was great. Lino explained what replacement roof he would order, we coordinated a day and time. It took him 2 days and he kept my baby in store over night. They also constructed a new shift boot cover for me which is incredible. The roof is a better quality than the one that came with the car. Upholstery work is a dying art and I’m grateful to have found Aranda’s.

Aranda replaced the headliner in my Cayman.  They got me in quickly, did quality work, had my car ready the next day, and all at a reasonable price.  I had a great experience with them.
