5 Best POS System Providers in Denver That Ring Up More Than Receipts

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Local support: We looked for providers that offer help when businesses need it most. Fast support can make a big difference when a payment system suddenly stops working during a busy day.

Industry fit: We considered how well each system works for different types of businesses. A restaurant, retail shop, and specialty store often need different tools to operate smoothly.

Equipment quality: We focused on providers that offer reliable hardware built for daily use. Strong equipment helps reduce downtime and keeps transactions moving without unnecessary interruptions.

Pricing clarity: We favored companies that are upfront about costs and monthly fees. Clear pricing makes it easier for business owners to budget and avoid unexpected charges later.

Choosing the right POS system can make a huge difference in how smoothly your business runs. From processing payments to tracking inventory, the right setup can save time and prevent many daily headaches.

With so many options available in Denver, finding the best fit isn’t always easy. I spent time researching local providers to see which ones offer reliable systems, helpful support, and features businesses actually use.

Whether you run a restaurant, retail shop, brewery, or specialty store, this guide highlights some of the best POS system providers in Denver to consider.

How much does a POS system cost in Denver?

Most Denver business owners can expect to pay between $60 and $150 per month for a standard POS software subscription, while complete hardware bundles for a single counter typically range from $800 to $1,700 upfront.

Basic Software Subscription$0 – $89 / month

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

When your checkout system goes down, every minute feels expensive. That’s what makes Retail Data Systems stand out. They focus on businesses that can’t afford downtime, such as grocery stores, restaurants, and other high-volume operations.

What impressed me most was their local support team. I spoke with a business owner who said a technician arrived within hours when their system failed during a busy shift.

They also handle more advanced setups, including self-checkout stations and integrated scales. Their systems can grow alongside your business without needing a complete replacement later on.

The downside is the higher upfront cost compared to simpler tablet-based systems. Smaller businesses may also find the platform more complex than they actually need.

Pros

  • Local technical support
  • Self-checkout solutions
  • Scalable systems
  • Built for heavy use

Cons

  • Higher upfront cost
  • More than small shops need

Impressed us with their hard work and dedication

They really impressed us with their hard work and dedication in the setup and tweaking phases of our new POS system.  We highly recommend this team of pro’s. We have their systems in 2 of our restaurants!! Thanks RDS!

Offer great, customizable POS hardware and software

These guys offer great, customizable POS hardware and software solutions. Best in the Biz, hands down. Jamie Lee is a a dynamo and a pleasure to deal with! They have a great team! Highly recommend 🙂

Keeping track of inventory gets complicated fast, especially when you manage hundreds or even thousands of products. That’s where Mariner Business Solutions shines.

They specialize in inventory-heavy businesses and offer tools designed to keep stock levels accurate and organized.

I like how much attention they give to staff training. Even employees who aren’t comfortable with technology can usually learn the system quickly.

Their online and in-store inventory syncing is another major advantage for businesses selling through multiple channels.

The reporting tools are detailed enough to help owners make smarter purchasing decisions, and are helpful for any accounting service you might need later on, too.

The tradeoff is that the system isn’t built for restaurants or cafes. It also takes some time to learn because of the number of features available.

Pros

  • Strong inventory tracking
  • Staff training support
  • Detailed reporting
  • Online store integration

Cons

  • Not ideal for restaurants
  • Learning curve

3. Memotronics POS

Hours: By appointment

Not every business needs the newest cloud-based platform. Sometimes you just want reliable hardware that works every day. That’s what stood out to me about Memotronics POS.

They focus on affordable systems and hardware repairs, making them a good option for startups and small retailers. I especially like that they still support older equipment that many companies no longer service.

Their custom hardware setups can also help businesses working with limited counter space. I think that the overall experience feels very personal and hands-on.

The downside is that you won’t get as many advanced cloud features as some newer competitors offer.

Pros

  • Affordable hardware options
  • Hardware repair expertise
  • Custom POS setups
  • Personalized support

Cons

  • Limited cloud features

4. Cova Software

For dispensaries, compliance isn’t optional, but it’s part of daily business. That’s why Cova Software has become such a popular choice in the cannabis industry.

What I like most is that the system was built specifically for dispensaries rather than adapted from a general retail platform. Features like compliance alerts and inventory tracking help businesses stay organized and avoid costly mistakes.

The offline mode is another major advantage, as sales can continue even if the internet service goes down. Plus, they offer seven-day support, which is helpful for businesses operating throughout the week.

The biggest drawback is that the platform is highly specialized and won’t work for most other industries. New users should also expect a more involved setup process because of regulations.

Pros

  • Cannabis compliance tools
  • Offline sales mode
  • Inventory integration
  • Seven-day support

Cons

  • Limited to dispensaries
  • More complex setup

The support staff alone is 100% worth the service fee

Excellent POS option for both regulated THC and CBD/Hemp Derived dispensaries! The support staff alone is 100% worth the service fee. If there is anything I cant figure out myself, their team is quick to resolve and ensure I understand how to maintain moving forward.

Great software supported by an incredible and responsive team

We are very pleased with product itself but it’s the ongoing support and care that makes the difference. Great software supported by an incredible and responsive team. We are very happy we decided to go with Cova for our POS and ecomm.

5. Katalyst POS

Areas Served: Denver and nearby areas

Contacts: +1 888-996-8486

Hours: By appointment

Running a busy bar or restaurant gets chaotic fast, especially when orders, staff, and payments all pile up at once. That’s where Katalyst POS comes in.

What stood out to me is how they combine everything into a single system rather than forcing you to rely on multiple tools.

Their platform works especially well for breweries, nightclubs, and casual dining spots in Denver because features like open tabs, mobile ordering, and kitchen displays are built directly into the system. That makes service feel smoother during rush hours.

I also like their flat pricing since it avoids surprise fees that smaller businesses often struggle with.

The downside is that the system doesn’t integrate easily with some third-party apps, which can be frustrating if you already use specific software. It’s also still a newer platform, so it doesn’t have the long track record of more established providers.

Pros

  • All-in-one system
  • Great for busy bars
  • Built-in KDS tools
  • Flat-rate pricing

Cons

  • Limited app integrations
  • Newer platform

Amazing POS very user friendly

Katalyst is an amazing POS very user friendly very easy to navigate through. Support from Nicole and support team is amazing. I am extremely happy with the system as is my staff.  I highly recommend their system.
