Taking on a major staircase renovation usually calls for a contractor who treats the work like part structure, part design feature. Elevated Stair and Rail give off that feeling right away.
What I like here is the use of 3D digital drawings before fabrication starts. That makes it easier to picture how a custom stair or handrail will actually look in your space, especially on more detailed remodels.
A colleague of mine used them during a Victorian home restoration, and the crew handled the rebuild with a level of care that really stood out.
Their knowledge of local safety requirements is another plus because custom work still needs to hold up under inspection.
The main drawback is that the lead carpenter also serves as the project manager. That setup can slow communication a bit on busy install days, especially when the same person is juggling physical work and scheduling updates.
Fantastic experience with the stair replacement
We had a fantastic experience working with Elevated Stair and Rail to complete our stair and handrail replacement project. Miles was the lead carpenter on the project and helped us turn our 80’s carpet nightmare into a beautiful hardwood staircase with an elegant, custom continuous wooden railing with metal posts. Miles was very kind and detail oriented. We also had the railing and stair stained by one of the primary contractors who work with ESR (Davis) and had a wonderful experience with him as well. Definitely will recommend to others, and will work with them again in the future.

Excellent job from start to finish
They did an excellent job from start to finish. The quality of the work is outstanding. The new treads are beautiful with our hardwood floors. The attention to detail and the clean, modern look completely transformed our space. The team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend Elevated to anyone needing custom stair or railing work. They really take pride in what they do!

2. Majestic Rails, Stairs & Flooring

Scheduling a railing consultation can turn into a drawn-out process, so I can see why Majestic Rails, Stairs & Flooring appeals to busy homeowners.
The owner personally trains the installation team, and that experience shows up in the company’s confidence with stairs, railings, flooring, and custom component work. Plus, their video estimates make the first step feel a lot easier.
They also support builders by supplying materials with trade discounts, which gives them a bit more flexibility than a basic installer.
Their in-house shop is another strength, as it supports custom changes and one-off pieces that larger renovations sometimes require.
That makes them a practical option when you want one company that can handle both the design conversation and the fabrication side.
The catch is that you have to buy materials through them if you hire their installation crew. Their showroom hours are also limited, with weekday closing at 3:00 PM and no weekend availability.
They took my inspiration photo to reality
Majestic Railing did an amazing job! They took my inspiration photo to reality. Our stair railing is the first thing you see when you walk in and now our railing is a showcase piece! Roy is a master craftsman who take care from start to finish. The entire MR staff was a pleasure to work with and we really appreciated their care and responsiveness.

Beautiful design and install
Majestic Rails did a beautiful design and install of our new staircase railing. We also had a scheduling issue on our end and they were able to accommodate us and get in to do their work quickly and earlier than their typical schedule. Alex, our installer, was especially great. Polite, cleaned up each night and communicated with us throughout the project. Highly recommend Majestic Rails. It is an investment in your home and it’s worth it. Photos are pre stained, but finished railing.

3. Colorado Custom Metalwork Inc

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Colorado Custom Metalwork Inc makes sense for homeowners who want custom railing work but need a little more flexibility around budget.
First off, they have an Acorn Finance partnership, which is useful when a larger stair or deck project would otherwise feel tough to time financially.
I also appreciate that each product gets powder coating for extra weather resistance, which matters in Denver when snow, sun, and temperature swings all take a toll on exterior metal.
Adding to my peace of mind is their warranty covering material defects and workmanship. Another detail that stands out is the option for tailored safety gates for babies and dogs.
One thing to keep in mind is that the company reserves the final say on whether a defect gets repaired or refunded.
On the bright side, if you’re planning a broader upgrade, their focus on custom metal fabrication can pair nicely with other fabrication-heavy home projects.
Price, service, and punctuality
Just had the most wonderful experience! It was time to switch out my 1973 railing to a stylish 2024 railing. I couldn’t happier with their price, service, and punctuality. They even made the spacing a little smaller so my chihuahua cannot fit thru. I have chihuahua proof pet gates at both the top and the bottom of the stairs. They had a ton of powder coat colors to choose from in addition to the typical black. The stainless blended so much better with my beach themed walls.

Good service, good communication, good price
Our 60+ year-old house needed a new railing and handrails for the stairs. CCM was great to work with, had good ideas for us, and the finished product turned out really well. It wasn’t the easiest task to get the old railings out and the new in, but they handled it all very well. Good service, good communication, good price. I’d use them again.

4. Rigid Ironworks LLC

Address: 2531 W 62nd Ct, Unit M
Contact: (720) 271-9471
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Rigid Ironworks LLC feels like a stronger fit for projects that require serious metalworking experience.
The owner comes from a structural steel background, and that industrial know-how carries over well to demanding residential and commercial railing jobs.
They use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to plan out custom pieces, which can help when measurements are tight or the design is more complex than a basic straight run.
The fabrication side is also backed by active American Welding Society (AWS) certifications, which adds another layer of confidence in the workmanship.
I recently heard from a property manager who used their mobile onsite welding service, and they liked not having to move everything offsite first. That kind of flexibility can save time on larger properties or commercial repairs.
The downside is that the main operator is also the welder doing the work. Without dedicated office staff, communication may be slower during regular business hours.
Timely, patient, and thorough
Steven was awesome to work with for our railing project! He was timely in getting us an estimate and patient and thorough with all of our questions. His communication was amazing throughout and we could not be happier with the end result!

5. Innovative Renovations Inc.

Website: https://innovativerenovationsinc.com
Address: 1190 S Lipan St
Contact: (720) 486-0128 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
Innovative Renovations Inc. is a great choice when you want one team to handle everything from the initial design to the final installation. Because they keep their fabrication in-house, the whole process stays organized and efficient.
Their experience covers both homes and large businesses, so they can handle much more than just a simple handrail fix. I especially like their five-stage review process, which ensures every detail is double-checked before the crew even arrives at your site.
Since the team is already focused on safety and building codes for stairs and balconies, it makes sense to have them handle the surrounding finishes as well.
For example, adding an epoxy flooring upgrade is a natural fit when you are already refreshing the look of a garage or basement.
The only real downside is that they focus mostly on commercial steel and indoor stairs. If you just need a basic railing for an outside deck, they might not be the best match.
A beautiful exterior handrail
Innovative Renovations installed a beautiful exterior handrail after I had stone stairs placed (replacing very old, and warped wood stairs). The new railing is a lovely complement to the stone steps! IR was very attentive, including correcting a small design flaw in a timely manner. Each team member, including multiple fabricators, executed their parts of the project expertly and efficiently. The end product is beautiful. I highly recommend these folks!

Very impressed with the quality workmanship
Very impressed with the quality workmanship on both the railing they made for us and the install! Everyone we interacted with was very professional and we had a wonderful experience with this company from start to finish. Our new railing looks absolutely fantastic thanks to their attention to detail and high quality work, and they were very reasonably priced — Overall 5/5 stars and I would recommend this company to everyone!
