The Best Steakhouses in Denver That Will Allow You to Savor the Mile High City

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Menu Variety and Meat Quality: We examined the breadth of available cuts and the sourcing methods used by each kitchen. Venues offering diverse selections like Japanese A5 Wagyu or locally sourced game received higher consideration.

Atmosphere and Ambiance: The overall dining environment plays a massive role in the sensory experience. We looked for spaces that provide a highly refined setting suitable for formal occasions or energetic modern aesthetics.

Private Dining and Event Capabilities: Accommodating large groups or corporate gatherings is essential for many patrons.  We prioritized restaurants that feature dedicated private rooms and specialized catering managers to ensure flawless execution.

Accessibility and Operating Hours: Convenience dictates how easily patrons can enjoy a meal. We evaluated schedule flexibility, noting whether locations offer midday service or strictly cater to the evening crowd.

Finding the perfect cut of meat can turn a standard evening out into a spectacular culinary event.

The local culinary scene is packed with excellent venues offering prime meats and curated wine lists. But navigating these choices requires knowing exactly what each establishment brings to the table.

We explored the vibrant dining landscape to help you discover the best steakhouse in Denver for your next unforgettable meal.

Website: https://www.delfriscos.com/

Address: 8100 E Orchard Rd

Contact: (303) 796-0100

Hours: SUN: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM; MON: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM; TUE – FRI: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM; SAT: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Nestled in the Greenwood Village area, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse provides an excellent ambiance featuring a classic mahogany aesthetic and a curated wine list.

The lush interior beautifully reflects its mile-high surroundings, setting the stage for a premium dining atmosphere.

When I spoke with a local business professional who frequently hosts client dinners here, they noted that the dedicated private dining rooms offer the perfect secluded environment for closing deals.

Patrons can explore an extensive range of high-quality meats. The menu features hearty 32-ounce portions that practically melt on the tongue and specialty Japanese A5 Wagyu options.

For those who prefer alternatives to beef, the robust seafood selection features fresh jumbo shrimp and sushi-grade tuna poke bowls.

The main drawback is the location in the Denver Technological Center (DTC), which requires a lengthy commute for guests staying strictly in the downtown core.

Pros

  • Highly refined premium dining atmosphere
  • Wide range of cuts, including Wagyu
  • Robust fresh seafood alternatives
  • Tailored private dining experiences

Cons

  • Located outside the downtown core

Customer Reviews:

Incredible food, and always top tier service.

Always a great experience Here at Del Frisco’s! I appreciate the finer details of this steak house. A very upscale experience. Incredible food, perfectly crafted drinks, and always top tier service. My wife and I visited recently for our anniversary. We had a great dinner. I do wish they would have ask if we were there for an occasion. But we had a great time.

The steak, sides and dessert which were all amazing

The steaks here are phenomenal. Their Caesar salad could use a little work…I don’t understand why the salad wouldn’t come out chopped, but a base my review solely on the steak, sides and dessert which were all amazing. Bonus points that the staff served the sides to each person, despite they were group sides.

2. Guard and Grace

guard-and-grace

Website: http://www.guardandgrace.com/

Address: 1801 California St

Contact: (303) 293-8500

Hours: Lunch: Tuesday – Thursday: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Dinner: Sunday – Thursday: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Friday & Saturday: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Breaking away from dark and moody traditions, Guard and Grace is a massive 9,000-square-foot progressive establishment that delivers a bright, airy atmosphere right in the heart of downtown.

This expansive footprint includes multiple specialized private rooms capable of accommodating customized group sizes.

Moving on to the food, the kitchen utilizes traditional oak wood-fired grills. This infuses the meat with a distinct, crackling, smoky flavor profile that standard gas setups can’t replicate.

Diners seeking a crisp palate cleanser before the heavy main courses will appreciate the extensive raw bar filled with briny, fresh oceanic starters.

While the energetic modern aesthetic is an attractive feature, midday dining services are strictly restricted to a window from Tuesday through Thursday.

This limited availability means the venue is entirely closed for Friday business lunches and weekend afternoon meals, requiring patrons to adjust their schedules accordingly.

Pros

  • Bright and modern interior aesthetic
  • Distinct oak wood-fired flavor profile
  • Extensive raw bar for starters
  • Multiple specialized private dining rooms

Cons

  • Unavailable for Friday business lunches
  • No weekend afternoon meal service

Customer Reviews:

The difference in steaks was awesome to taste.

I went to Guard and Grace to celebrate with my friends. I ordered the Filet Flight, we ordered the mashed potatoes, and the carrots. The difference in steaks was awesome to taste, this allowed me to determine what steak I will order next time too!!

The desserts were all shared, I think we decided the G&G Cake to be our favorite, followed closely by the toffee… But all three were enjoyed immensely.

Will definitely be coming back!

Top 3 steak dinner I’ve had – Denver is doing things right. You come in for the steaks and stay for the triple chocolate cookies. Service was great, every one of the bartenders made amazing cocktails and overall such a great experience. Will definitely be coming back! Picture include the steak flight. Brussel sprouts, and house made gnocchi-

3. Shanahan’s Steakhouse

shanahan-s-steakhouse

Website: http://www.shanahanssteakhouse.com/

Address: 5085 S Syracuse St

Contact: (303) 770-7300 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday – Saturday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Sunday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Shanahan’s Steakhouse’s sophisticated venue provides a club-like atmosphere tailored to the upscale DTC market. By dedicating their operations entirely to dinner service, the staff is highly focused on providing an unhurried evening.

The traditional environment is perfectly suited for celebrating quiet milestone events and finalizing high-level corporate agreements.

A recent conversation I had with a frequent patron revealed that the specialized in-house catering manager makes planning large-scale private events incredibly seamless.

High-level communication is also prioritized, offering public email access directly to the managing partner.

Food-wise, the kitchen makes prime-aged meats seared to perfection.

But because the doors don’t open until 5:00 PM daily, the establishment is completely unavailable for midday business meetings and casual corporate lunches.

Pros

  • Highly focused evening dining operations
  • Direct communication with the managing partner
  • Classic and sophisticated club atmosphere
  • Specialized in-house catering management

Cons

  • Strict evening-only operating hours

Customer Reviews:

Overall, a solid steakhouse we’d happily come back to.

We went here for my birthday, and the ambiance felt modern, chic, and elevated. The steak was very well prepared, and the garlic parmesan fries were absolutely superb (I normally wouldn’t order fries at a steakhouse, but they looked too good to skip). The Brussels sprouts were just okay. Overall, a solid steakhouse we’d happily come back to.

The steak was a perfect medium.

Came here for my birthday last week and everything was absolutely perfect. The steak was a perfect medium and the appetizers and sides were insanely flavorful. Then the raspberry and chocolate mousse at the end that I got as a birthday dessert was so wonderful!

4. EDGE Restaurant & Bar

Website: https://www.edgerestaurantdenver.com/

Address: 1111 14th Street

Contact: (303) 389-3050

Hours: Mon-Sun: 6:30 AM – 9:00 PM

EDGE Restaurant & Bar is situated inside the Four Seasons Hotel. It’s a progressive American venue that emphasizes locally sourced Colorado game and seasonal flavors cultivated by their executive culinary team.

The menu offers a vibrant departure from the ordinary, much like the bold, warming spices found at the top Indian restaurants in the city.

Unlike most traditional establishments, comprehensive meal services run throughout the entire day, including early breakfast and weekend brunch.

Diners can easily utilize luxury hotel amenities like professional and secure valet parking. The attached bar also stays open late into the night, allowing a seamless transition from a quiet dinner to an energetic nightlife environment.

However, being located on the ground floor of a bustling luxury property means the dining and bar areas often become noisy with transient hotel guests passing through the lobby.

Pros

  • Comprehensive all-day meal services
  • Unique locally sourced Colorado game
  • Vibrant bar scene for late-night drinks
  • Access to luxury hotel valet parking

Cons

  • Ground floor lobby can become highly crowded

Customer Reviews:

I definitely would recommend the Edge Steakhouse.

We went during the holiday break, so expected it to be quite busy.it indeed was we still got sat and served pretty fast. I was really happy with the steak it was way better than I expected as they dry it in  house.it was really good and flavorful. I definitely would recommend edge steakhouse to anybody in Denver.

I am certain you will find it a valuable experience.

Edge is a trendy restaurant with solid steak and fish options and a great vibe. I have had two servers here that took care of us very well. William and Philip. I would suggest Edge to others for a great meal with class. The cocktails, wine and food is exceptional and I am certain you will find it a valuable experience.

5. Urban Farmer Denver

urban-farmer-denver

Website: https://www.urbanfarmersteakhouse.com/

Address: 1659 Wazee St

Contact: (303) 262-6070

Hours: Monday – Friday: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Saturday: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Sunday: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Urban Farmer Denver is a modern farm-to-table destination that focuses on in-house whole animal butchering and sustainable partnerships with local purveyors.

Actively highlighting strict sourcing protocols, the kitchen ensures diners consume highly traceable and ethically raised ingredients.

Their butchery program allows for unique cuts of meat, minimizing food waste while maximizing the rich, savory potential of every plate.

I love that guests can visually appreciate the quality of the meats at the engaging communal charcuterie station before the formal dining begins.

And during the weekends, the popular brunch service provides a versatile location for morning gatherings.

For those craving fried chicken or other casual daytime bites, the neighborhood has plenty of options, but this venue shines for an upscale morning steak.

Unfortunately, during the work week, the doors don’t open until 4:00 PM, eliminating it as an option for corporate weekday lunches.

Pros

  • Sustainable whole-animal butchery program
  • Transparent farm-to-table sourcing practices
  • Interactive communal charcuterie station
  • Highly regarded weekend brunch availability

Cons

  • Weekday operations do not start until 4:00 PM

Customer Reviews:

Everything was delicious!

Stopped in without a reservation on Saturday night. We were able to get a seat at the bar right away. The bartender greeted us promptly and made some great recommendations. We shared a wedge salad and ribeye steak with potatoes brûlée. I drank the house martini that came beautifully presented with cheese, nuts and pickled veggies. Everything was delicious!

Cooked to absolute perfection!

The steak was cooked to absolute perfection! I got their steak sampler and it was so delicious it was like dinner and dessert in every bite! The lovely lady at the bar Alison helped me understand the menu and brought a warm friendly vibe to my dinning experience. 1000% will be back for more!
