Extra Space Storage is my top pick if you’re worried about Mile High weather wrecking your stuff. The big draw here is how steady they keep the temperature and humidity, which helps protect sensitive items from heat, cold, and moisture.
That protection felt real when I visited this Champa Street location last summer. Even with the heat blasting outside, the corridors felt cool and dry, so the climate control didn’t seem like just a marketing claim.
Security adds another layer of comfort because every unit gets its own alarm. Moving in also feels easier since the loading bays are covered, which helps when rain or snow hits during a move.
On top of that, they offer everything from small lockers to large commercial spaces.
The downside is that low rates can jump after a few months. Also, the office is closed on Sundays, though gate access is still available.

The mobile app adds to the convenience because it lets you open gates and doors without touching a keypad. That means no fumbling with physical keys or stopping by the office just to check in.
The location also works well for commuters who want to swing by on the way home from work.
The trade-off is that office hours are a little limited if you need in-person help. You should also expect heavier traffic near the entrance during the afternoon rush, and promo prices may rise to standard market rates later.

If you’re planning a massive move with a semi-truck, 303 Self Storage in RiNo is worth a look. It’s one of the few urban spots that can actually handle 18-wheelers for drop-offs, which makes it easier when you’re moving a lot at once.
That larger-move setup is useful, but the free move-in truck is what really adds value. A buddy of mine saved a lot of cash with it when he relocated his office last year.
Because of that, the facility feels like a good middle ground between a small personal locker and a full warehouse setup.
The whole property is climate-controlled too, so delicate artwork and wooden furniture get better protection from dry Colorado air. On top of that, you can manage your lease and payments online without going into the office.
One catch is that insurance is required, which adds a small monthly cost. There’s also a one-time setup fee on every new rental.

SecureSpace in Park Hill feels more like a high-tech data center than a dusty old storage lot. The video monitoring uses artificial intelligence (AI), and motion-activated lights help keep every hallway visible.
That security focus is matched by the condition of the facility. I was really impressed by how clean and bright it felt compared to the older industrial lots nearby.
The contactless system also makes the process simple because you can pick a unit and get the gate code on your phone in just a few minutes.
Moving large items should feel manageable here too. Big freight elevators and wide corridors make it easier to bring in bulky couches or heavy inventory without fighting tight corners.
The trade-off is that this newer premium facility has higher monthly rates. Upper-floor access can also take longer than for a drive-up unit, and you’ll need proof of insurance or their plan before moving in.

StorQuest is a great fit if your storage needs revolve around outdoor gear. Instead of feeling like a place to dump old boxes, the facility works more like a personal locker for mountain bikes, skis, and other Colorado essentials.
That gear-focused setup stood out when I spoke with a local rock climber who stores equipment there. He liked that the climate control helps protect pricey ropes and gear from heat damage.
The upbeat vibe helps too, especially since the staff seems familiar with local trails and ski conditions.
Security is another strong point. Every unit is individually alarmed, and 24/7 video surveillance adds peace of mind when you’re away on a trip. Managing the account is also simple with autopay.
The only real catch is that the office closes early on Sundays, so late-weekend in-person help is limited. Prices also run higher than older non-climate-controlled options farther out.
