  • Instruction Quality: We picked studios with skilled teachers who give clear instructions and help fix your form, so everyone, from beginners to pros, can practice safely and improve.
  • Atmosphere and Inclusivity: We focused on places that feel welcoming to all body types and backgrounds. Everyone should feel comfortable, no matter their fitness level or identity.
  • Class Variety: We looked for studios offering more than just basic yoga flows. Having access to special equipment or unique healing classes keeps things interesting and adds real value.
  • Community Connection: We paid attention to studios that build real connections by hosting workshops and social events. It's important that a yoga studio feels more like a community hub than just a spot to work out.

Address: 2450 S University Blvd.

Contacts: [email protected]

Hours: Mon–Thu 5:30 AM–8 PM; Fri 5:30 AM–6 PM; Sat–Sun 7:30 AM–12 PM

TWST Fitness University of Denver is known for its precision pilates classes, focusing on the Lagree Method and high-intensity moves.

Instead of your usual slow flow yoga, they use spring-based resistance machines that really fire up your muscles. This careful approach helps you build strength without putting pressure on your joints.

We’ve heard so much from regulars about how their core felt the difference after joining sessions, adding that regular floor exercises just don’t compare.

Their small group classes also mean the instructor pays close attention to everyone’s form.

The only downside is that, because of the specialized equipment, classes cost a bit more than your typical gym session.

Pros

  • High-performance Lagree equipment
  • Small group personalized attention
  • Convenient University of Denver location
  • Specialized core strength training

Cons

  • Specialized equipment; high-priced classes

So grateful for these instructors

Best Lagree classes in Denver! Hardest classes but such a great community of women! I go twice a week now after I broke my foot in January and needed two surgeries. I’ve never seen a quicker change in my physique and strength. So grateful for these instructors !!!!!

The instructors are so knowledgeable and motivating

TWST is an amazing studio. I’ve never had a bad class. The instructors are so knowledgeable and motivating. Bonus, the owners are lovely humans who give back to the community so you’re supporting local women owned business.

Hours: Mon, Tue & Thu 7 AM–8:30 PM; Wed 6 AM – 8:30 PM; Fri 7 AM–6 PM; Sat 7 AM–9 PM; Sun 8 AM–3:30 PM

Urban Sanctuary puts community and inclusivity front and center, focusing on both ancestral healing and making sure everyone feels welcome.

As Denver’s first Black-owned and woman-owned wellness studio, it really stands out as a place where you belong right from the start. The energy inside is vibrant and non-judgmental, so when we walked in, we immediately felt at ease.

The studio offers unique classes like tantra workshops and reiki training, which you won’t find at most other places. Their focus is on holistic health and truly caring for your mental well-being, not just on workouts or looking good in yoga gear.

We talked to a regular who shared how the sliding scale pricing made it possible for them to come every week, even during a tough job transition.

However, classes are small and intimate, so you’ll need to book ahead to secure your spot.

Pros

  • Radically inclusive community space
  • Offers sliding scale memberships
  • Diverse ancestral healing workshops
  • BIPOC and LGBTQ+ focused sessions

Cons

  • Small class size; can be booked up quickly

They offer so many different classes

Urban Sanctuary is a wholesome gem in the heart of Denver. They offer so many different classes but my favorite is their summertime series of morning outdoor yoga! It’s such a treat to start the day outside, on your mat. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

The studio itself is so comforting, inviting, and warm

I’ve only been to Urban Sanctuary a few times, but it is truly such a magical place to practice. The studio itself is so comforting, inviting, and warm (energy-wise). I took the Soul Vibrations Moon class last night with Royal, and it was exactly what I needed. Royals voice, cues, adjustments, and sound bath savasana were lovely *chefs kiss*. I look forward to my next class there and my next class led by Royal!

Denver Yoga Underground stands out for their social justice focus and unique, counter-culture vibe. They specialize in trauma-informed yoga and teacher training that goes way beyond just physical poses.

Don’t expect loud music or fast-paced flows here; instead, the classes dive deep into mindfulness and personal transformation. That said, it really feels like a hidden gem for anyone serious about personal growth and a mindful practice.

Their pay-what-you-can option for some events shows they genuinely want yoga to be accessible, even if you’re on a budget.

The only drawback is that their schedule isn’t as full as regular fitness centers, so you’ll need to plan.

Pros

  • Specialized trauma-informed curriculum
  • Pay what you can workshop model
  • Deep focus on yoga philosophy
  • Small group mentorship environment

Cons

  • Limited weekly class schedule

Truly unique and life-changing experience

I would highly recommend this program to anybody who is interested in not only teaching yoga but also in discovering more about yoga philosophy, history and ayurveda. Derik is very knowledgeable and patient with the students and all the other presenters were also very accessible and interesting. I thank Denver Yoga Underground for this truly unique and life changing experience!

I highly recommend if you are looking for a tight yoga community

I took the YTT. This is perfect if you are looking to expand your practice and teach yoga. Derik does an amazing job staying true to yoga’s heritage. He goes very in depth in the material and you get to explore much more than just the asanas. I highly recommend if you are looking for a tight yoga community, and looking to explore many aspects of your life through the lenses of yoga.

Yoga Center of Denver really shines when it comes to structural alignment, making every pose easier and safer by using props like ropes and blocks. This thoughtful approach is great if you have injuries or limited mobility.

They even have special classes for seniors help create a truly diverse and welcoming atmosphere.

The teachers here go through rigorous training, so you can trust that you’re in good hands. Many first-timers have shared how much they appreciate the way instructors explain how to properly use props like bolsters.

Thanks to that guidance, they were finally able to feel comfortable in poses that normally gave them a hard time.

Just so you know, classes typically move at a slow and steady pace. If you’re looking to break a sweat with something more intense, you might want to consider other options.

Pros

  • Highly specialized Iyengar instruction
  • Extensive use of therapeutic props
  • Therapeutic for chronic injuries
  • Rigorously trained certified teachers

Cons

  • Slow pace may feel tedious

Love the vibe here much more than other studios in the area

Rooted heart, the apothecary next door, and the corner beet are a fantastic trio for self care. Yoga instructors are all very friendly and inclusive, class toughness varies so if you don’t like one class try another instructor! Love the vibe here much more than other studios in the area who are more workout focused and far less spiritual. Rooted heart is the vibe!

The studio was very calm and relaxing

We came for a private bachelorette yoga session with Rumi, and it was one of the best yoga experiences I’ve ever had. The studio was very calm and relaxing and the instruction pace was spot on to meet us where we were at. I would recommend this studio over and over again! I wish I lived closer so I could practice here more often!
