We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

  • Curriculum Quality: We evaluated the structure and substance of the classes offered at each studio. Programs must show a clear progression path that helps students safely build their techniques.

  • Atmosphere and Inclusivity: A welcoming environment is crucial for both young children and adult beginners. We prioritized spaces that encourage supportive learning rather than cutthroat competition.

  • Instructor Expertise: We examined the backgrounds and professional experience of the teaching staff. Studios with seasoned faculty members provide a much higher level of mentorship.

  • Facility and Accessibility: The physical studio space greatly impacts the overall learning experience. We assessed parking availability, schedule flexibility, and the condition of the dance floors.

Hours: Monday-Friday 9:30 AM–8 PM, Saturday 9 AM–12 PM, Sunday Closed

Colorado Ballet offers professional classical training from highly experienced faculty members directly connected to a premier ballet company.

This academy’s high-level classical environment is essential for serious dance students craving professional mentorship. The rigorous curriculum, in particular, guides students from toddler levels through advanced pre-professional stages.

Students also receive an incredibly structured approach that focuses heavily on technique and musicality here. The instructors push them to build dynamic strength while preparing them for a potential career in dance.

I also appreciate that they provide numerous performance opportunities throughout the year to give students real stage time.

However, arriving for a daytime session can be a minor headache. The main entrance sits next to a restricted employee parking lot, so you usually have to hunt for street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

Pros

  • Highly structured curriculum from toddlers to pre-professionals
  • Direct connection to a major professional company
  • Focuses on technique, musicality, and creative expression
  • Frequent performance opportunities for serious students

Cons

  • Restricted daytime employee parking lot
  • Requires finding nearby street parking

Sets You Up For Success

I was looking for an adult ballet class to drop into during a business trip and I found the Intermediate ballet on Monday evening with Kevin! He is a great teacher – ensures the whole class is comfortable with the exercise and sets you up for success. The class was wonderful – just the right amount of challenging whilst still moving with artistry and expressing the joy of dancing. I could not recommend this class more! Thank you!

Music Was Superb

The Nutcracker was so beautiful and colorful with amazing ballet. The sets were enchanting and made you feel a part of the story. The orchestra’s Tchaikovsky music was superb and the unsung heroes of the night. My favorite was the soloist and the ballerinas with their magnificent display of Waltz of the Flowers. They were all magnificent really, just a particular favorite of mine. And the costume designer…Que Bella! No photos but a closed curtain to respect the wishes of the Colorado Ballet.

Nurturing a toddler’s imagination requires a special kind of patience and a highly engaging environment.

Tutu School Cherry Creek specializes exclusively in introducing young children to ballet through a curriculum that balances early skill instruction with pure creativity.

They brilliantly incorporate the stories of famous classical ballets into their lessons to keep little ones completely engaged.

When I brought my young niece here for her free trial class, she instantly fell in love with the vibrant, pressure-free atmosphere.

It was also fantastic to see how the teachers focus on the joy of movement rather than rigid perfection. I think it’s a perfect starting point for families, and even babies as young as six months old can participate!

The only downside is the strict age cap on their programs. Since the curriculum only accommodates children up to eight years old, older siblings or adults will need to look elsewhere for their dance education.

Pros

  • Specialized age-appropriate classes starting at 6 months
  • Uses classical ballet stories to engage imaginations
  • Pressure-free and fun learning environment
  • Free trial class available for new students

Cons

  • Strictly limited to children 8 years old or younger
  • No class options for older students or adults

Structured Caring School

Most whimsical, structured caring school my daughter has ever attended. This is our 2nd year here and the teachers are wonderful! My daughter Evey had surgery as a baby and ballet has healed her! Her favorite school and mine. I look forward to coming back 🤍

Fun and Encouraging

My daughter started her dance classes at Tutu Dance Club a few months ago, and it has quickly become her favorite place to go! The teachers are so friendly, patient, and experienced with young children, which makes learning ballet fun and encouraging. They also have an adorable selection of ballet clothes, which my daughter loves. We’re so happy we found this studio!

Finding a versatile studio that grows alongside your child can save parents from constant studio-hopping.

Park Hill Dance Academy creates a nurturing yet professional environment with a wide range of offerings, including a pre-professional Park Hill Dance Academy (PHDA) Youth Company and specialized aerial dance classes.

They also teach a wide variety of styles, such as modern, jazz, and hip hop, alongside their classical foundations.

Parents I spoke with appreciate how the supportive atmosphere instills discipline while keeping the learning process enjoyable. The instructors foster a genuine love for movement in dancers ranging from tiny two-year-olds up to high school seniors.

In a way, their teachers act almost like the best life coaches in Denver by actively building their students’ confidence and character.

However, joining their elite youth company does demand a massive lifestyle adjustment. Dancers must commit to a minimum of four weekly classes plus extensive Saturday rehearsals, which can easily overwhelm busy families.

Pros

  • Diverse styles, including aerial dance, starting at age 8
  • Pre-professional training program for elite performers
  • Accommodates ages ranging from 2 to 18
  • Accommodates ages ranging from 2 to 18

Cons

  • Youth company requires a massive time commitment
  • Mandatory Saturday rehearsals for company members

Hours: Monday–Thursday 3 PM – 9 PM, Friday 4 PM – 5:30 PM, Saturday 9 AM – 1 PM, Sunday Closed

Entering the competitive dance world often brings unnecessary stress to young performers. Dance Conservatory of Denver deliberately discourages strict competition, focusing instead on teamwork and fun to instill a lifelong passion for dance.

This school stands out for its highly supportive atmosphere, where children can train from early pre-ballet stages through advanced pointe work.

Notably, the seasoned instructors bring decades of experience to the floor while maintaining a distinctly warm and encouraging tone.

It’s also great that they make planning easy by posting transparent, tiered monthly pricing directly on their website.

Their annual recitals are so beautifully produced that you might want to hire the best videographer in Denver to capture your child’s performance.

Just keep in mind that progression requires a steady schedule. Once a student reaches Level 1, they must attend at least two classes per week, limiting flexibility for families wanting a casual hobby.

Pros

  • Comprehensive training from pre-ballet to advanced pointe
  • Prioritizes teamwork over cutthroat competition
  • Instructors possess over 20 years of local teaching experience
  • Transparent pricing and summer camp details available online

Cons

  • Level 1 students must attend multiple weekly classes
  • Limited options for casual or infrequent participation

Second Home

My daughter loves DCD!  After dancing at another studio, we moved here for the outstanding ballet instruction and friendly, non competitive environment.  She spends a lot of time dancing and I couldn’t have asked for a better second home for her.  Her teachers, Ms Jennifer and Ms Cori, are not only professional, but their genuine interest, warmth and support bring out the absolute best in every dancer.  I can see the joy and growth in my daughter’s dancing/performances and above all she is happy and having fun!!  Highly recommend!!

Proper Technique and Form

My daughter has been dancing at DcD for over  6 years now, and she loves it today, just as much as when she started when she was 4 years old.  This is in large part due to Miss Jennifer.   She is such a caring, dedicated teacher.  Just as important as teaching the kids proper technique and form, she takes great pride in making sure that everyone is having a positive fun experience.  Miss Jennifer has instilled a passion for ballet and dance in my daughter that will last a lifetime.

Adult beginners often feel deeply intimidated by the mirrors and tight clothing found in traditional studios.

Bella Diva World Dance is an award-winning space that specializes in adult classes and emphasizes total empowerment for every body type, age, and background.

Here, they offer a unique variety of global styles and fusion fitness routines that go far beyond standard barre workouts. The studio also caters to busy schedules by streaming virtual classes simultaneously via Zoom for ultimate accessibility.

A close friend who recently joined their adult beginner program told me the welcoming energy completely erased her initial nervous jitters.

And if you’re ready to showcase your new skills on stage, you can even participate in their performing company.

Just be prepared for a potentially steep learning curve in certain sessions. Some beginner slots progress rapidly into intermediate choreography or occasionally use substitute teachers without warning, which might overwhelm absolute novices.

Judgment Free

Bella Diva is a really special dance studio in Denver. The beginner Samba classes are excellent, the teachers are so knowledgeable and the classes are fun and really help you improve and understand the cultural significance of the dances. Adult ballet is also fun and very accessible. The studio is warm and welcoming, and their new space is lovely and very comfortable. It is a great studio to try out new types of dancing in a judgment free atmosphere.

Safe Space

I’ve been going to Bella Diva for about 6 years now and have met so many amazing people and learned so many different dances! I love that we are all a community and have a safe space to dance and be yourself. ✨😁😊 …
