We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Material Quality: We examined the durability and aesthetic appeal of the materials each company utilizes for their builds. Options ranging from scratch-resistant laminates to authentic wood textures were prioritized to ensure lasting value.

Design Process: Our evaluation heavily weighed the inclusiveness and technological advancement of the consultation phase. Companies offering complimentary 3D modeling were favored because they help homeowners visualize the final result before committing.

Installation Efficiency: We looked closely at the turnaround times and professionalism of the actual assembly teams. Businesses that employ dedicated in-house installers who maintain clean workspaces scored higher in our rankings.

Warranty and Value: A major consideration was how well these businesses stand behind their finished products over the long haul. We prioritized makers offering robust warranties or transparent guarantees that protect your investment.

Overall excellent experience!
Overall excellent experience! Closets by Design did not disappoint! Lexie was an amazing designer, taking the time to listen to our needs and crafting exactly what we needed in our new home (walk in closet, bathroom update and mudroom). Matt, our installer, made the design come to life. They both gave great customer service and we could not be happier the the results!

I had a great experience
I had a great experience with Closets by Design. My designer came in and helped sketch a beautiful design we were envisioning.

When it came to the install Matt & Kali were so quick and professional, they were done in 2 days. The end results really transformed our pantry and master closet, that I can’t stop showing it off. I have received multiple compliments on how beautiful everything turned out. I would HIGHLY recommend this company.

Stepping into a high-end organizational upgrade feels effortless with California Closets, which uses impressive 3D modeling software. This tool lets you see your exact space before any work begins.

It’s impressive that the Denver branch has been family-owned since 1983. With their background, we can trust their deep understanding of local home layouts and styles.

When we recently visited their Cherry Creek showroom to check out the fingerprint-resistant finishes, the quality of their sustainable materials really stood out.

Their in-house installers are also experts at navigating tricky features like sloped ceilings and tight corners.

While their premium materials and lifetime warranties offer great peace of mind, this bespoke approach is a higher investment than standard retail solutions.

Just keep in mind that if you want to add hardwired lighting, you will likely need to coordinate with an outside electrician on your own.

Pros

  • Free expert measurements and design consultations
  • Eco-friendly, recycled wood fiber materials
  • Precision engineering for awkward room layouts
  • Neat installation by trained company employees

Cons

  • Higher investment cost than retail shelving kits
  • Bespoke manufacturing creates longer lead times

Customer Reviews:

MARY and team rock!
I see all sorts of online discussion about the premium cost of CA Closets. I tell all definitively the premium IS warranted AND totally worthwhile. The design experience, the installation experience, the post installation experience AND the product itself have all been WELL worth what we paid. MARY and team rock!

The crew did an amazing job
The California Closets crew did an amazing job transforming our small(ish) master closet. We have so much more room and makes the rest of our master bedroom so much better because we have space for clothes that used to get draped across the bed or vanity, etc. The entire process was painless and the staff were very professional. No surprises–they were on time and work was completely finished when they left. I absolutely recommend California Closets when you look to transform your living space.

3. Closet Factory

closet-factory

Website: https://www.closetfactory.com/locations/denver/

Address: 8480 Upland Drive, Suite 200, Parker

Contact: (303) 219-3501

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Closet Factory operates with a personal design philosophy. They focus on floor-based systems that feel like high-quality built-in furniture instead of basic hanging kits.

Impressively, the local Lestikow family has owned this location since 1992, and offers a level of expertise that is truly hard to beat. They also provide one of the widest material selections in the market today.

Their talented designers are also great at fixing unusual room shapes, and the team can usually finish complex builds in just one day.

As for their closets, every single piece is built to order in their Colorado manufacturing facility. With this, you’re sure your project is handled by full-time staff and not outside subcontractors.

One thing to consider is that local manufacturing takes time. This delay can be particularly frustrating for homeowners who need urgent upgrades to address immediate comfort issues or rising energy costs.

Pros

  • Personalized 1-on-1 3D design journey
  • Expert space planning for unusual layouts
  • Single-day installation for most complex builds
  • Strict white-glove cleanup policy after assembly

Cons

  • Custom manufacturing takes about a month
  • Minor component errors may require a second visit

Customer Reviews:

Victor and Javier were great to speak withy and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you all!

Ronny and Javier did a great job
We are thrilled with our new closet system from Closet Factory! Our consultant Jen knew exactly what we were looking for and came up with the perfect design. The install team of Ronny and Javier did a great job – they were on time, professional and took the time to make sure everything was done per the plan. Address: 1336 Sherman Dr, Suite D, Longmont

Contact: (303) 894-3100

Hours: Monday – Saturday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Affordable Closets LLC offers peace of mind by backing its custom projects with a reliable lifetime warranty and a price guarantee.

Their design process is very straightforward and moves you from the first meeting to the final installation without any middlemen getting in the way.

Because they’re locally owned, they truly understand how to create versatile designs like adjustable shelving that grows with your family.

When I had their team measure my own small guest room, I was really impressed by the 3D interactive preview. It allowed me to swap out hardware styles right on the screen so I could see exactly what worked.

However, because they insist on truly tailored solutions, they require a mandatory on-site assessment and won’t provide firm price quotes over the phone.

Pros

  • Scratch-resistant thermally fused laminate finishes
  • Versatile shelving meant to grow with your needs
  • Free concierge consultation with physical samples
  • Fast installations within three weeks of measuring

Cons

  • Mandatory on-site assessment for accurate quotes
  • Highly limited design flexibility after ordering

Customer Reviews:

Bret and his team were amazing!
Bret and his team were amazing! I chose the company because I liked that they were local. I preferred to initially correspond only via email, and Bret exceeded all my expectations. I sent him a picture of the space and dimensions, the next day he sent over pricing and design options. He worked with me to fit my budget and change the design until it was perfect for us. I can’t recommend these guys enough. The built in shelving is gorgeous, reasonably priced and adds value to our home. We will be recommending to all our friends.

They were very professional
It was easy to schedule an appointment with Bret in our home, and his input was invaluable in finalizing our closet design. Bret accommodated us in scheduling the demolition of our existing closet hangers ands shelves and hangars and setting up the installation of our new closet. The installers, Ed and Josh, arrived early and did great work, maintained communication, and were very professional. I highly recommend Bret and Affordable Closets.

It’s also worth highlighting that their turnkey approach is hands-off, meaning their crew handles every part of the assembly for you.

Clozetivity recently installed a custom closet for our primary bedroom and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results! We were also impressed by the high quality materials; very durable and they look amazing! Our closet turned out so good that we immediately booked them to customize our kid’s closets, which turned out just as great. Thank you Closetivity!!

Clozetivity of Denver is fantastic!
Clozetivity of Denver is fantastic! Lauren is very talented and was super helpful in the design and planning of our new closet. We had a unique space and she was able to design the layout to maximize the footprint. Nick and Sebastian did the install. Couldn’t have asked for two more polite and professional gentlemen to do the work. They kept us informed during the process and were meticulous in their work. Very well done! Highly recommend!
