We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Quality of Care and Facilities: We looked at the medical standards and the environment of each clinic. It’s important that the equipment is modern and the space is clean and welcoming for animals.

  • Specialized Services and USPs: We assessed what makes each clinic stand out from the rest. Whether it’s holistic medicine or emergency transparency, we prioritized unique benefits that serve specific pet needs.

  • Pricing and Accessibility: We checked how easy it is to get an appointment and if the costs are fair. We included a mix of budget-friendly clinics and premium centers to fit every Denver lifestyle.

  • Patient Care & Reviews: We looked for positive local reviews emphasizing compassionate care, thorough communication, and effective treatment outcomes.

Finding a veterinarian you trust is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a pet owner. Whether your pet needs a routine checkup, specialized treatment, or emergency care, having the right team can make all the difference.

The city has no shortage of veterinary clinics, but some go above and beyond when it comes to both medical expertise and compassionate care.

I looked into the top options across the city to find clinics that consistently earn the trust of local pet parents. Some even offer convenient extras like dog grooming and dog boarding, making it easier to keep your pet happy and well cared for.

Here are the best vet clinics in Denver worth considering.

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

If you’ve got a pet that turns every vet visit into a stressful experience, Goodheart Animal Health Center can make the whole process feel a lot easier.

The clinic itself has a welcoming atmosphere that feels more like a wellness center than a traditional animal hospital.

From the moment you walk in, there’s a noticeable effort to keep pets comfortable and relaxed, which can be a huge relief for anxious dogs and cats.

I like how the team takes the time to get to know both you and your pet, so appointments never feel rushed.

On top of that, their membership plan helps spread wellness costs into monthly payments, making routine care a little easier to budget for.

The only catch is that this personalized experience often comes with higher prices than some other clinics in the area. You should also note that they’re closed on Sundays.

Pros

  • Fear-free clinical techniques
  • Membership wellness plans
  • Modern and cozy facility
  • Great post-op communication

Cons

Customer Reviews:

Answer any questions that arise

Dr. Williams is wonderful (as are all the Goodheart vets who care for our dogs)! He is thorough and caring. His approach helps keep a very scared dog calm. He spends the time that the human needs to feel heard, and to answer any questions that arise. His advice and suggestions don’t just focus on the medical issues, he also provides pragmatic recommendations (such as food a picky dog will actually eat!). 10/10 highly recommend!

They are very friendly

We have been part of the GoodHeart family since they opened their first clinic. They provide compassionate veterinary care, both for routine and emergency issues. The staff take time to answer all of your questions, and they are very friendly and gentle with our pets, helping them feel immediately comfortable at every vet visit.

2. Veterinary Emergency Group

Website: https://veterinaryemergencygroup.com/

Address: 3845 E Colfax Ave

Contact: 720-574-9834

Hours: Available 24 hours

Veterinary Emergency Group is open 24/7, and loyal patrons love that they can walk in at any time without an appointment, perfect for when something goes wrong unexpectedly.

They also offer phone consultations, giving you a chance to speak with a veterinary professional before heading in.

What makes them different is their open-concept approach. You can even stay with your pet during much of the treatment process, so you’re not left wondering what’s happening behind closed doors.

Just keep in mind that emergency care comes with higher costs than a typical vet visit.

The clinic can also feel a bit hectic during busy periods, especially when multiple urgent cases arrive at once. Still, for around-the-clock emergency care, they’re a trusted choice.

Pros

  • Stay with pet during surgery
  • Open 24/7 for all cases
  • Immediate triage on arrival
  • Pre-visit phone consultations

Cons

  • Higher emergency service fees
  • Waiting area can be chaotic

Thank you to everyone for your kindness on the worst day

I came in with my sweet baby on thanksgiving. She was very sick and not eating even with an appetite stimulant from her regular vet. They gave her pain meds and I had to make every pet parent’s worst decision and say goodbye. They were so kind to me and took great care of my angel. One of the techs even showed me her paw tattoo which inspired mine. Thank you to everyone for your kindness on the worst day.

They really know how to make a stressful situation a lot calmer

My dog is (unfortunately) a semi-frequent flyer at VEG. I cannot say enough great things about this location. The staff are angels on earth – so happy, chatty, attentive, and knowledgable. They really know how to make a stressful situation a lot calmer. We are always seen right away. This is my go to ER for my dog. I highly recommend it to everyone I know. Thank you for all that you do, VEG team! You’re rockstars! 10/10.

3. Downtown Animal Care Center

Website: https://downtownanimalcarecenter.com/

Address: 1041 Galapago St

Contact: 303-595-3561

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

If affordability is at the top of your list, Downtown Animal Care Center is hard to ignore.

They’ve built a strong reputation for providing essential services like spay and neuter procedures and surgeries at prices that are often more accessible than many other clinics in the area.

Because they see such a high number of patients, their veterinary team has plenty of hands-on experience with routine procedures. That efficiency can be a huge advantage when you’re trying to schedule something quickly.

In fact, many pet owners turn to them when other clinics have long waitlists for dental work or basic surgeries.

The flip side is that appointments can feel a little faster-paced. This isn’t necessarily the place to expect lengthy consultations or extended one-on-one conversations with the veterinarian.

The waiting room can also get busy, which isn’t surprising given their popularity. Still, if you’re looking for reliable care that won’t stretch your budget, Downtown Animal Care Center is a solid option.

Pros

  • Very affordable surgical rates
  • Large surgical capacity
  • Walk-in vaccination clinics
  • Expert soft-tissue surgeons

Cons

  • Less one-on-one consultation time with the vet
  • Crowded waiting areas

Customer Reviews:

Very budget friendly

Excellent service. Wonderful staff. And best of all they didn’t try to bend me over and tell me I need to pay for a bunch of crap. The doctor made his recommendations, I told him what I wanted, he got it done and then I left. Simple and easy. Highly recommend this clinic. And can’t beat the prices either. Very budget friendly. I love this place.

Easy to talk to

We had our cats’ annual exams and vaccines. Staff was great, very friendly and easy to talk to. We had an appointment and there was no wait when we got there. They also handled our pets with great care. Fees were affordable. Definitely a good place for pets.

Contact: 303-477-1984 | [email protected]

If you’re the kind of pet owner who likes having a trusted vet close to home, Urban Vet Care has a lot going for it.

Their team combines modern veterinary medicine with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, so visits feel a little less stressful for both you and your pet.

They even treat exotic animals, which can be a huge relief if you’ve struggled to find qualified care for a bird, reptile, or other non-traditional animal.

What makes them particularly appealing is how they cater to busy schedules. Between their extended weekday hours and convenient online pharmacy, they’ve removed a lot of the little hassles that come with pet care.

Unfortunately, it can take a while to get a new client appointment, especially during busy periods. Parking around the clinic can also test your patience a bit.

Pros

  • AAHA-accredited standards
  • Open until 7 PM weekdays
  • Treats exotic animal species
  • Convenient online pharmacy

Cons

  • Difficult street parking
  • Long waits for new appointments

Customer Reviews:

The doctor is always on time

I’ve been taking my dog, Truman (a big pit mix), to this vet for about two years now, and I couldn’t be happier. Everyone here is so kind, helpful, and genuinely caring. The doctor is always on time and takes the time to explain everything clearly. I really feel like they care about Truman’s health proactively, not just when something’s wrong. Highly recommend this clinic!

The facility is always clean and comfortable

UVC is the best veterinary practice I have ever experienced. AAHA certification matters! From the front staff to the techs to the doctors, everyone is so kind, genuine, and competent. The facility is always clean and comfortable. I couldn’t be happier with this clinic.

5. The Center for Animal Wellness

Website: https://thecenterforanimalwellness.com/

Address: 1167 Santa Fe Dr

Contact: 303-534-1875 |  720-739-1733

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

For those who prefer a more holistic approach to pet care, The Center for Animal Wellness offers a refreshing alternative to the traditional veterinary experience.

Their team combines conventional medicine with treatments like acupuncture and other integrative therapies, creating a well-rounded approach to your pet’s health.

I appreciate how peaceful the clinic feels. It’s noticeably calmer than many busy animal hospitals, which can make a big difference for senior pets or animals that get nervous during appointments.

And if your pet is dealing with chronic pain, mobility issues, or ongoing health concerns, their focus on long-term wellness is especially appealing too.

Just keep in mind that they’re not equipped for 24-hour overnight monitoring, so severe emergencies may require a different facility. It’s also worth checking your insurance coverage, as some plans don’t fully reimburse alternative treatments.

Pros

  • Holistic acupuncture treatments
  • Calm and quiet environment
  • Specialized senior pet care
  • Certified Fear-Free staff

Cons

  • No 24-hour onsite monitoring
  • Insurance may not cover herbs

Customer Reviews:

Extremely friendly people work here

The best vet I have ever been to. They explain the care your animal needs in layman’s terms and will help you not overspend on extras. Extremely friendly people work here: both techs and front staff. Shout out to Dr. Andy for an awesome checkup for our dog- he is a rock star. Great communication and people skills! If I could give 10 stars I would. Who knew going to the vet would be the highlight of my day?

Informative in helping determine the best course of action to treat our girl

Our pup Ellie has been going to TCAM since she was a puppy. Recently at 3 years old they were able to diagnose her with a rare auto immune condition. Dr Llewy specifically has been so kind, supportive and informative in helping determine the best course of action to treat our girl. We are so thankful to have her as Ellie’s vet as she truly cares about the “kiddos” she works with and loves her job. ❤️ Jessie Barnes Google Review
