1. Cart-Driver RiNo

Address: 2500 Larimer St. Suite 100, Denver, CO 80205

Contact: 303-292-3553

Hours: 12:00pm – 12:00am Daily

A tiny shipping container might not sound like the usual setting for a dinner date, but Cart-Driver RiNo turns that space into something memorable.

The restaurant focuses on authentic, wood-fired Neapolitan pizza made with premium seasonal ingredients. They deliver a style that feels both rustic and refined.

We visited late one evening, and loved the combination of chewy, tangy crusts with freshly shucked oysters. They made the experience stand out in a way we did not expect from such a casual setup.

The counter-service format also keeps things relaxed, while still offering a menu that includes prosecco and well-crafted cocktails.

While the food is memorable, diners should anticipate a loud environment that might clash with a quiet evening out. You can also expect to wait up to fifty minutes for your meal during peak hours.

Still, the overall craftsmanship makes the wait well worth it!

Pros

  • Authentic wood-fired Neapolitan crust
  • Unique seasonal toppings and oysters
  • Premium organic ingredients
  • Elevated craft cocktails

Cons

  • Lengthy wait times during peaks
  • Environment can feel excessively loud

I’d absolutely return next time I’m in Denver.

Cart-Driver was a highlight of my Denver trip. The brick oven pizza is made fresh to order with quality, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, and you can taste the difference. The crust had the perfect texture — light, crisp, and just the right amount of char — and everything felt balanced rather than heavy. The simplicity of the menu works because it’s executed so well. Great energy in the space and efficient, friendly service. I’d absolutely return next time I’m in Denver.

The tomato sauce and the dough are excellent

Cart-Drive is definitely the closest version of a real Neapolitan style pizza I have found in the Denver-Boulder area. The tomato sauce and the dough are excellent. Great undercarriage and crust (you can tell from the leopard pizza crust). I would recommend going there and enjoy the vibes. They have a great patio which may be the perfect spot for a summer date. 100% recommended.

Hours:

  • Mon: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • Wed & Thu: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • Fri & Sat: 11:00 AM – Midnight
  • Sun: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Finding a spot that delivers artisanal Italian flavors without a high price tag is not easy, but Pizza Cucina Denver does a solid job of making that balance work.

The kitchen focuses on accessible pies and affordable personal-sized options. This makes this spot a practical choice for both solo diners and larger groups.

The menu is broad and crowd-friendly, with options ranging from hot honey chicken pizza to hearty pasta dishes and even classic burgers. This variety makes it easy to order for different tastes without overcomplicating the decision.

Ordering is also straightforward thanks to their emphasis on online pickup, which helps streamline dinner after a busy day.

One thing we were disappointed with, though, was the dough. It can be inconsistent, with some crusts turning out denser than expected instead of light and airy.

A few specialty pizzas also come across as slightly unbalanced due to heavily layered toppings.

Pros

  • Broad selection of specialty pies
  • Budget-friendly personal pizzas
  • Diverse menu including pastas
  • Highly convenient delivery options

Cons

  • Crust texture can be dense
  • Occasional topping flavor imbalance

Can’t wait to come back to Denver to eat more pizza here

Great pizza in a welcoming environment

I recently dined at Pizza Cucina while visiting Denver from out of state, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience! The pizza was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients. The staff was super friendly and made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is charming, with that cozy hole-in-the-wall vibe that gives it character and adds to the authenticity of the place. If you’re looking for great pizza in a welcoming environment, I highly recommend checking out Pizza Cucina!

Address: 6115 E 22nd Ave, Denver, CO 80207

Contact: (303) 321-1511

Hours: Mon-Sat 11:00 am – 10:00 pm, Sun 11:00 am – 9:00 pm

Nestled quietly in the Park Hill neighborhood, Oblio’s Pizza has spent nearly thirty years refining a comforting, Italian-inspired menu.

The restaurant is known for its made-from-scratch dough, baked in a traditional brick oven that delivers a crisp, satisfying crust. We visited over a weekend and found the first bite especially memorable for its texture and warmth.

The menu is also flexible, with strong gluten-free crust options and a wide range of customizable toppings. That makes it easy for groups with different dietary needs to find something that works without compromise.

The welcoming atmosphere feels perfect for a casual family gathering or a relaxed afternoon lunch.

That said, be prepared for occasionally slow service when the dining room fills up with hungry locals.

Some visitors have also pointed out inconsistent kitchen execution, noting that a few items arrive slightly burnt or a bit greasier than expected.

Pros

  • Established neighborhood dining vibe
  • Made-from-scratch daily dough
  • Traditional brick oven preparation
  • Excellent gluten-free menu options

Cons

  • Service speeds frequently fluctuate
  • Occasional issues with burnt edges

Reminded of pizza I’ve had in NYC!

I am new to Denver Colorado, and googled best pizza near by and this established was listed. I was overly pleased with the Margarita Pizza, cheesy, and full of favor! It reminded of pizza I’ve had in NYC!

Favorite pizza spot

Oblio’s is our favorite pizza spot in Denver! We switch it up with the salads so you can’t go wrong with any of those choices, and our go to pizza is usually a Margherita! The meatballs are flavorful, soft and well packed, and you can’t complain with to-go cocktails! Highly recommend trying this place out if you haven’t, my family and I get a pizza at least once a month if not more.

4. Giordano’s

Website: https://giordanos.com/locations/denver/

Address: 1600 California Street Denver, CO 80202

Contact: (720) 874-5205

Hours: Mon-Thu 11:00 am – 9:00 pm, Fri-Sat 11:00 am – 10:00 pm, Sun 11:00 am – 8:00 pm

Craving a massive cheese pull usually leads straight to Chicago-style deep dish, and Giordano’s is one of the best-known names for it.

Their stuffed pizzas are baked in a layered style inspired by a long-standing Italian family recipe. This technique creates a thick, double-crusted pie loaded with Wisconsin mozzarella.

The experience feels like more than a typical pizza night. Each order is assembled with a very specific process that turns a simple meal into a rich, filling centerpiece.

For groups with different tastes, they also offer thinner tavern-style pizzas as a crisp alternative to the heavier deep-dish option.

Because these deep-dish wonders are incredibly thick, anticipate waiting at least thirty minutes for your order to reach the table.

Additionally, the side salads and appetizers feel rather average, and the service can occasionally come across as inattentive.

Pros

  • Authentic Chicago stuffed deep-dish
  • Proprietary high-quality cheese blend
  • Massive portions ideal for sharing
  • Alternative thin crust availability

Cons

  • Preparation takes over thirty minutes
  • Average appetizers and sides

Great food and amazing people

Giordano’s has the best pizza in downtown Denver—hands down. From the first bite of their famous stuffed deep-dish to the perfectly crisp thin crust, every slice is packed with rich flavor and quality ingredients. It’s not just the pizza that makes this place special—the employees are truly the best. Friendly, fast, and always welcoming, the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, the service is top-notch. Giordano’s isn’t just a pizza place—it’s a downtown Denver gem where great food and amazing people come together.

Overall a great experience!

Check out Giordano’s when you are in Denver! Our server, Madison, was awesome! We ordered a couple glasses of sauvignon blanc to sip on while waiting for our “The Special” deep dish pizza. It was worth the 40 minute cook time wait. The sauce was delicious, flavorful and not too sweet. The deep dish crust was cooked to perfection. The toppings of sausage, peppers, onions and mushrooms complimented each other. Overall a great experience!

5. Blue Pan Pizza

Website: https://bluepandenver.com/

Address: 3509 East 12th Ave Denver, CO 80206

Contact: (720) 519-0944

Hours: Sun-Thu 11:00 am – 9:00 pm, Fri-Sat 11:00 am – 10:00 pm

A slice with thick, crispy, caramelized cheese edges can feel like a small revelation, and Blue Pan Pizza has built its reputation on exactly that experience.

The restaurant specializes in Detroit-style pies made with competition-level technique. They serve seventy-two-hour slow-fermented dough, creating a base that is both airy and substantial.

Each pie is crafted with attention to texture and structure, which gives it that signature contrast between crispy edges and a soft interior.

The menu also offers New York and tavern-style options, making it easier for groups with different preferences to find something they enjoy. That variety helps balance out the heavier, richer Detroit-style offerings.

The restaurant often gets crowded during peak dinner hours, though, so expect long waits.

Plus, the premium ingredients drive the cost higher than pizza spots.

Pros

  • Award-winning Detroit-style crusts
  • Seventy-two-hour fermented dough
  • Multiple regional pie styles offered
  • Convenient food truck event catering

Cons

  • High prices compared to competitors
  • Dining room gets extremely crowded

one of our go to spots for pizza in Denver

Blue Pizza does NOT miss on their Detroit style pizza. Highly recommend the Brooklyn Bridge as well as the Parma Italia! Tried the tavern-styled-Chicago-inspired thin crust with sausage and mushroom and got to say, Jimano’s in Englewood serves a better thin crust! It’s missing on the seasoning. Also, $3-$4 per topping is a bit much. Feedback aside, this is STILL one of our go to spots for pizza in Denver. Cheers!
