Finding the best sports bar in Denver takes more than picking the closest place with a TV. Some spots nail the screen setup but miss on food, while others feel fun until the crowd gets too cramped by kickoff.
I wanted places with strong game-day energy, decent value, and enough character to feel worth the trip. So I narrowed this guide to local bars that make it easier to settle in, order a round, and actually enjoy the game.
How much does going to a sports bar cost in Denver?
A typical visit to a Denver sports bar usually costs about $10 to $30 per person for food and drinks.
| Venue Type | Typical Cost Per Person |
| Casual neighborhood spots | $10 – $20 |
| Upscale downtown spots | $20 – $30+ |
1. Tom’s Watch Bar – Coors Field

Website: https://tomswatchbar.com/
Address: 1601 19th St., Unit 101
Contact: (303) 872-7557
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM; Friday-Saturday, 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM; Sunday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Tom’s Watch Bar feels built for people who want a full stadium-style setup without actually being inside the ballpark. Its surround-screen layout and spot beside Coors Field make it easy to roll from pregame drinks into the action outside.
I stopped in before a playoff game last season, and the staff handled the rush better than I expected.
The place gets loud in the best way when the first pitch gets close, so it works well for big local games and watch parties.
Food-wise, the kitchen leans more upscale than standard pub fare, which helps if your group wants real meals instead of just wings and fries.
The downside is that parking depends on nearby public lots, which can be annoying on busy event nights. Its exclusive soda setup also feels oddly limiting if you’re picky about drink brands.

Lots of screens, a lively atmosphere
Tom’s has everything you’d expect from a big sports spot: lots of screens, a lively atmosphere, and a solid drinks menu. The specialty cocktail I tried, the Party Starter Red Bull Margarita, was fantastic: strong, refreshing, and exactly what I needed for a fun night out. The food arrived quickly, which was good on a busy night, although I’d say the meals themselves were just “okay” not bad by any means, but nothing that blew me away.
If you’re heading to Tom’s, definitely ask for Bailey. She helped turn a standard sports-bar outing into a genuinely enjoyable night.

Five-star service from Anil tonight
Five-star service from Anil tonight. It’s hard to find a server at a sports bar who is both attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, but he nailed it. Our drinks were never empty, and he made sure our wings came out hot right at kickoff. We’ll be back for sure!

2. Society Sports and Spirits

Website: https://societydenver.com/
Address: 1434 Blake St.
Contact: (720) 517-7303 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Wednesday, 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM; Thursday, 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM; Friday-Sunday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 AM
Society Sports and Spirits stands out if you care as much about audio as you do screen count. It works as an alumni home base for several out-of-state college teams, and that shows when a big Saturday matchup is on.
What impressed me most was the audiovisual setup. Hearing different game feeds instead of one generic soundtrack makes the whole bar feel more tuned in.
It also handles private events, which makes it easier for birthdays or larger watch parties. The flat-rate packages here are useful if you plan to stay through primetime.
The trade-off is that weekend brunch cuts off early, so it’s not the best fit if you like easing into a late game-day meal. You will also pay extra if you swap fries for tater tots, which feels a little petty for a sports bar.

An oasis of TVs for your sports viewing pleasure
There is an oasis of TVs for your sports viewing pleasure. Great beers on tap. The food is great, drinks are affordable, and there is a great crowd of locals and out of towners who gather after sporting events. I was there for the Knicks Nuggets game, and had a blast. Bar tenders have great personality, and were playing some old school hip hop bangers! Had a blast, when in Denver I’ll be back!

The Duck wings were amazing
This is a really cool place. I had a great time. Known as a whiskey bar, but I didn’t the whiskey. Still this place has a great vibe. We had the pleasure of getting Paulie who added so much to our experience.
The Duck wings were amazing with the Spicy Honey Garlic sauce.
Also a really cool sports bar feel. Had an old Ali boxing match on, lots of cowboy fans. I will be back

3. Stoney’s Bar and Grill

Website: https://stoneysbarandgrill.com/
Address: 1111 Lincoln St.
Contact: (303) 830-6839
Hours: Monday-Tuesday, 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM; Wednesday-Friday, 11:30 AM – 11:00 PM; Saturday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Stoney’s Bar and Grill makes the strongest case for big groups that don’t want to feel boxed in. The 18,000-square-foot layout, multiple event spaces, and room for up to 1,000 guests give it more breathing room than most downtown sports bars.
I ended up grabbing the ski gondola booth here last winter while taking a break between local theme parks, and that alone made the stop memorable.
The place also keeps people busy between plays with mini bowling and Pop-a-Shot, so it works well when your group is half there for the game and half there to hang out.
What I found helpful is that private room rental fees are waived, which makes planning easier.
The catch is that some menu items feel more pieced together than bundled. Regular wings come a la carte, and premium India Pale Ale (IPA) upgrades on combo meals trigger an extra charge.

The perfect sports bar experience
What else is there to say about a sports fan’s paradise? The service is quick, the food is far better than it needs to be, and the viewing experience is meticulously coordinated by Cortney through her command of dozens of TVs to make sure everyone is watching the game they care most about, even during busy hours. Stoneys does what I previously thought impossible, and creates the perfect sports bar experience.

Probably best one I’ve been in
Stoney’s One kewl kickass sports bar. Probably best one I’ve been in. 5,000 sqft of pure awesomeness with friendly waitstaff, friendly crowds with lots of TVS. Fair prices on drinks and food. Has patio seating, cornhole and awesomeness all around. Highly recommend while in Denver.

4. The DNVR Bar

Website: https://dnvrbar.com/
Address: 2239 E Colfax Ave
Contact: (303) 551-2668 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM; Saturday, 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Sunday, 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Weekend Brunch: Saturday-Sunday until 12:00 PM
DNVR Bar is the kind of place where it’s genuinely hard to get stuck with a bad seat. With 33 screens and a crowd that leans heavily toward Denver sports fans, it feels built for people who actually care what’s on.
I also appreciate that the staff lets guests request audio instead of forcing the whole room to listen to one broadcast. Plus, the branded merch shop and team-focused decor give the bar a strong identity without making it feel closed off to visitors.
It’s a fun stop after exploring local saunas or hiking trails, especially if you want food and a drink before heading home.
The downside is the built-in kitchen wage surcharge. Large groups also get hit with automatic gratuity once the party reaches seven people, so the final bill can climb faster than expected.

It definitely didn’t disappoint
Travelled all the way from London to watch the nuggets and visiting this bar was 2nd on my list and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Staff and owner were very warm and friendly, TV’s everywhere, delicious food and cool memorabilia all around. I’m just jealous of locals who can experience this every week… not just once in 18 years ahaha. Best sports bar!

Such a great sports bar
Landed in Denver from the uk and went straight to this bar. Listen to a Broncos podcast so wanted to check it out. Such a great sports bar, showing lots of different games and sports. Really love the decor. The sliders and tenders were lovely, love how they were named after Denver sports teams/phrases. Cocktails were lovely too. All the staff were so friendly, got chatting to the locals and had a blast. 10/10 place 🧡

5. The 99ers Sports Bar

Website: https://the99erssportsbar.com/
Address: 909 E Colfax Ave
Contact: (720) 573-9581 | [email protected]
Hours: Tuesday-Thursday, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Friday, 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM; Saturday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
The 99ers Sports Bar brings something different to Denver by putting women’s sports at the center instead of treating them like background programming.
That focus gives the space a clearer identity and helps create a crowd that feels welcoming and easy to settle into.
I admire how intentional the concept feels. The nod to the 1999 United States women’s soccer team, the posted weekly TV schedule, and the option to plan private watch parties all make the experience feel thoughtful instead of thrown together.
It’s also refreshing to walk into a sports bar that’s not trying to be everything at once.
The main drawback is availability. It stays closed on Mondays, and the doors don’t open until late afternoon from Tuesday through Thursday, so daytime matches and lunch visits are off the table.

One big kitchen table
Sitting around the bar at 99ers is like one big kitchen table. As a sports novice, I wondered if I would keep up, but when the game is on, the spirit is communal, passionate, and engaging!
It’s a great place to meet a diverse collection of folks from all over the country!
While they don’t serve food directly, there are numerous adjacent options, and guests are free to bring in takeout and enjoy the ambiance with a selection of pairing options.

We are so lucky to finally have a place like this in Denver
You can tell the owners have put a lot of thought and love into this space. The beer selection is amazing and they also have plenty of NA options as well. The decor is perfect and really highlights what the bar is all about, women’s sports! This is a very inclusive space for anyone and everyone. Good vibes and conversation upstairs as well as a basement where you can hangout and play pool with friends. We are so lucky to finally have a place like this in Denver!
